In regards to the "black" man he supposedly met - anyone notice another lie he told?

I was in Plymouth recently, and a 40-year-old black man

made the point to me. He said, "I came here when I was six, I've

served in the Royal Navy for 30 years.

Yes - its on the transcript pages - he's basically either telling lies or the RN has now got a child labour policy

First of all i know nothing at all about politics but i watched the debate and must say i was impressed with Clegg. He came across to me as a normal bloke while the other 2 like typicle poiticians.

My question is in the next decade or 2 is it conceivable or even possible that the Lib dems could overtake one of the leading parties or even come to power?. In my lifetime all i have seen are Labour and Tory governments breaking promises and screwing up i think its time to give Lib dems a try they cant do any worse.

Unlike one that is perfectly oiled by the party spin machine, and whose only mistakes jeopardise several generations and are easily dismissed as the effect of outside influences.

I think what will save Labour and the Tories is the fact that some people are stuck in their ways. I have noticed that many people seem to be voting for them just because they always have done. This is a big shame, as it could prevent our country from changing for the better.

I would vote lib dem, as the only hope for the UK is serious change in the way the crooks are voted into power. and only some shift can achieve that. blue tory, nor red tory will acieve that. Only their desire for power will incorporate a libdem pact that will enfoce some change. Throw the rest of the policies down the toilet. Change of governance is the primary requirement.

The thing is though mate with all of his marketing experience and the Ashcroft millions funding coaching and the like, the mistakes (or lies?) should not have happened.

Cameron is being found out more and more as this goes on.

Note: I realise that both Brown and Clegg will no doubt have some anecdote ripped apart but they don't have the "squillions" behind them that try and avoid this

Cameron really needs to sack his script writers.

The Sun today was gushing all over Cameron, saying Clegg had no substance and Cameron showed the qualities of a true leader in the debate. What qualities were they? Lying, manipulating facts, and refusing to comment on core policy? I guess they are the leadership qualities we've grown used to.

I would actually vote Lib Dem but I don't agree with a fair amount of their policies, there's no way we should scrap trident, and I'm not sure that their math adds up, can we actually afford to give everyone a 10k tax allowance? If you can make the savings to do that then why not just make the savings anyway, and use the money to reduce the deficit. Now isn't really the time for tax cuts.

If the past is anything to go by 80% of the people who say they will vote Lib Dem end up voting for one of the other two.

For me the modern day Liberal Democrats were shaped by Jenkins, Rodgers, Williams and Owen, four prominent Socialists.

Very strange definition of socialism you use. In fact those four imbeciles leaving the Labour Party had more to do with shaping the new red tory party than the libdems who eventually ate them up and spit them out

A BPIX poll for tomorrows Mail on Sunday apparently has the parties as follows

Lib Dem 32% (+12)

Con 31% (-7)

Lab 28% (-3)

Others 9% (-2)

its interesting just how widely the polls differ, I think the latest yougov one has the libdems ahead just too, could be wrong though.

But the polls usually show a degree of consistency, right now they are as fluid as hell, thos is possibly the most interesting election I can remember

Any mention of Cleggs London man who was burgled 5 times only it was over 10 years ago whilst he lived in Hull

or that the national Curriculum doc referred to as 600 pages is only 181 pages

Does seem this time around Clegg has been allowed to get off without scrutiny , maybe it's a sign of how bad things are with politics in this country that the rush to adopt a new change means only certain facts are being held up for scrutiny ?

You are right about the national curriculum, I meant to raise that one as it was a bullshit statement.

I think the level of scrutiny afforded to the words of Clegg, or the lack of can be attributed to the fact despite how well he 'performed' they still aren't seen as a credible alternative and his words aren't poored over in the same way.

Finally managed to watch it on youtube and left with an underwhelming feeling of "meh" towards all three *cough* leaders.

Not changed my mind yet and will still be protest voting for a minority party because the main three are utter toilet.
