He's quitting, or at least the rumours are now very strong that he is, you should never go in to a tournament knowing the manager is gone after, England are in for a bad year next year, he'll be stubborn as **** and the players won't care

He's almost doing a Bruce where he undoubtedly came in and did some good but then slowly undid it all leaving us in a worse position than he found us, what should be a relatively straightforward job for the next man will once again be a position of turmoil and overhaul

Bit OTT.

The new job will be potential working with Bellingham for 6-7 years so that's a huge sell straight away. Guys like Saka and Foden are still very young aswell. And very quick win post 2024 to stop calling up Henderson, Maguire and Phillips which will get a decent chunk of fanbase/media onside.

Get the feeling Potter is taking his time getting back into club football as he'll probably be seriously considered, Steve Cooper aswell. Would be interesting what Howe does aswell if approached as you could see Newcastle sacking him in 18 months if they aren't seriously challenging for the title.

Plenty of domestic candidates and can see foreign guys like Conte being interested in the position which would be amusing and box office.

Talent is there no doubt but I meant more that he picked England up when they were in the gutter and no one wanted to be there, everyone hated international football, gave us the buzz back got us to a stage where the players were likeable and we had a belief in them and then slowly chipped away at it until we are where we are now, half the team are "shit" no one wants to watch us and no one believes we will win a thing

Somehow he's putting us down exactly where he picked us up from

Forget the quality of the players at his disposal the next manager is going to have the same challenge of just picking this team up and getting some life and enjoyment out of them first, the old mental blocks are back
