Yeah, I get kinda Southampton vibes. Having to do a mini rebuild every season after selling their star players is not sustainable on the pitch. Finances no doubt fine thou

Very one dimensional team too. Injuries or not, they conceded a lot of goals. Teams know how to play against them. It will be interesting to see if a new manager tries to inject a different style.

De Zerbi is now stating that no clubs have contacted him and that he hopes to coach in the league again.

For him to walk away from a multi million pounds contract then either he has something better lined up or be really, really hated being at Brighton. If it was something else like health/family reasons then he wouldn't be wanting to work again soon.

Brighton are probably happy for him to go as he is an over rated manager (I said this a few pages ago and was piled on). Conversely, he probably doesn't feel he can reinvest the money raised, and will dilute his image from this apparent next level manager to a mid / lower table PL manager.

In his first full season, he finished 11th and 48 points, a worrying fall from 6th and 62 points, which is a team he inherited from Potter. Clearly for the best they shook hands and went separate ways.

That's such an odd take.  He was hired in September of the season in which they finished 6th - which is basically an entire season - but gets no credit; it was all down to Potter? :D

Yeah, I heard he's a massive far-right di Canio/Mussolini loving Nazi and hated being around wooly wuffdas who enjoyed bum sex*

He was linked with the Milan job, but looks like they are going with Fonseca.
