Which Poch didn’t do either

Yep. Seems to be the logic that they'll tolerate this if it nets them a trophy. But if it doesn't, that's almost 2 years of eye-bleeding football with nothing to show for it. It is Mourinho though, so he deserves the shot if anybody does.

Tolerate what?

Top of the table, best goal difference, only 2 teams have scored more.

Not everybody can thrash the champions.

They need to win something this season as Mourinho tradition hints things will start falling down next season and they'll be around 8th in the league this time next year.

Kane and Son are both at their peak now so huge chance in europa and league cup I reckon.

It isn't just today. It's every game. They were sitting back like this against Palace at the weekend.

Do People forget football is entertainment primarily? If a team wins or loses it doesn't actually effect your life. Being something interesting to watch should be the goal of any ambitious team. Trying to win the title playing like Neil Warnock is embarrassing.

Do you think there are teams that are full throttle every minute of every game? Nobody wins every game either.

Its laughable to suggest that the Spurs board are having to “tolerate” anything given they are in an excellent position, with excellent players in really good form.

The beat Man City, Arsenal and thrashed Man United away this season. Scored 7 in the Europa league too.

Poch got 87 points in 16/17 when they finished 2nd. Don't really see Spurs getting close to that this year. Mid 70s is probably where they're at.

+60 goal difference too that season. Apart from City 2017/18, that was the most exciting team of the decade.

It's not about being full throttle. The style of keeping it tight and nicking a goal or 2 on the break is exhausting to watch as a fan. We should know, we had to endure it in the Championship in an analogous situation actually.

When the only difference between this current team and past teams ends up being style at the end of the day (in the scenario that they don't win anything), the fans won't be happy. I know Spurs fans, my brother is one. They're consoling themselves with the promise of a trophy. If it doesn't come, I think they'll turn.

I think it depends, if Spurs win the league the fans wont care. They havent won since 1961, if they were a regular top team then maybe thats a different story. Its like Bruceball or Warnock in the Championship if it gets you up you can tolerate it but long term its not sustainable and sometimes like watching paint dry

Not if you’re the manager.

Don’t really buy the whole “boring Mourinho” thing. Of course he can be at times, especially in the big games but they could easily be leading in this one.

But didn’t his Chelsea side hold the record for most goals in a season for a while and his Madrid side still does?
