Several people have been injured after a car reportedly mounted the pavement and hit pedestrians in a busy tourist area in west London.

Police descended on an area outside the Natural History Museum in South Kensington on Saturday.

Scotland Yard said officers were called to reports of a collision at 2.20pm in Exhibition Road. 

 

A man was arrested at the scene, police said.

A Met Police spokesman said: "It is believed that a number of pedestrians have been injured.

"Officers are on scene, and the London Ambulance Service have been called.

 

"A man has been arrested at the scene.

"Enquiries to establish the circumstances and motive are underway."

Having drove around there before I would say that it is a very confusing layout indeed, could well be down to moronic driving rather than it being an attack, although the police have to proceed as if it were for obvious reasons.

The most British "panic" ever. Black cabs, no shouting, people carry on going about their business, if you listen carefully you can here someone tut at one point.
