If we're saying it's OK for them to continually fail to win the title even when the other usual suspects have their laces tied together like this season, then it just goes to show that Arsenal's success must be different to that set out for the likes of United, Chelsea and City. "One of" the best seems to be good enough for them and if that's all they want then more power to them. Keep Wenger 'til he drops in that case.

Jimzk5
Arsenal wenger is both a brilliant manager at the same time as being one of the most frustrating for Arsenal fans I imagine the reluctance to spend money on quality in key areas yet he is happy to go and pay £12million for players like Arteta who was 29 when he joined, yet he turned down yaya toure for £3million , arshavin for £15million, look at the shit hes signed in defence, squilaci, koscielny, Gabriel not to mention signing players like swell head Gervinho to replace Henry.

I bet Arsenals funding is significantly lower than Man Utd, Man City & Chelsea yet they are able to compete with them year in year out. The fact that Wenger gets Arsenal in touching distance regularly shouldn't be seen as a negative at all. This is the problem. "Wenger is shit because he gets into the top places in the league but doesnt win it" Wenger is shit because he gets his team into the Champions League every bloody year and doesnt win it" Crazy crazy football fans. He'll quit either end of this year or next so we'll get an idea then of just how well he has done.

Every manager makes mistakes in the transfer market, no exceptions. How about signing Henry in the first place, from Juve reserves wasn't it? He built an amazing side, in fact the best team I have ever seen at villa park, Arsenal with Henry, Pires, Viera, Ljunberg etc, the fact is since that invincibles side broke up he's failed.

Koscielny is one of the best defenders in the league, but your other points stand.

BOF Posted March 4, 2016 Moderator Share Posted March 4, 2016 Aaaand there's that level of conversation, despite the fact that up to this point we've been talking about the league. You fire ahead Genie, I'm going to go elsewhere

Genie
Fair enough. Built one of the best teams ever seen in the premier league. Won several league titles, CL finalists, won the last 2 FA cups and Community shields. Qualified for the CL about 17 or 18 times in a row (on a significantly small budget than the 2 Manchester clubs, Chelsea, probably Liverpool too). Consistently in the top 3 or 4 over 2 decades, currently 6 points off top with 10 games to go... If you honestly can say he should go then I'm gobsmacked. Its as if you guys have never actually watched what happens when clubs get greedy. Edited March 4, 2016 by Genie
The_Rev
The stadium is down to Wenger too. He put Arsenal in a position where they could afford to do that and it's currently generating the highest matchday gate receipts in European (and presumably global) football. If they were still at Highbury with it's 38'000 seats and handful of corporate boxes then they wouldn't be anywhere near that goal. Yeah, it might have hamstrung them a bit in the past decade but it's secured the club for the foreseeable future. Arsenal won't be knackered if the TV money ever dries up and they have Arsene Wenger to thank for that.
gharperr
Semi read recent comments. Genie winning thread. Rest still not realising the differencE between pretty stadium and post stadium it appears ...c'mon guys I genuinely wonder what lol casual fans opinions were when they was trying to pay stedium debt? (Hint: it was not winning the fkin league) Imo pretty sure spurs have a better chance to win league this season compared to any arsenal squad in past ... but they won't get called bottlers because casuals don't understand finances etc , neither are bottlers Edited March 4, 2016 by gharperr

Its what you've won that matters. Before the last 2 fa cups they hadnt won anything for 7 years lmao

If someone arrived from Mars and was one of the only people to have to actually ask about what kind of club Arsenal are (you know being world famous club due to their consistantly high standards), so yeah imagine they've never heard of them, one might tell them that since 2002 they've won the league twice, won the FA cup 5 times & 4 community shield winners medals too. They've also qualified for Europes top tier competition EVERY SINGLE YEAR through their league position (getting to the final once). How embarrassing, you've got me there
