What a great achievement by the British team to come second overall. And to top it off we won more gold in different sports than anyone else. The lottery funding has worked wonders.

His greatest achievement.

Weight lifting, as a federation, needs to be put under enormous pressure for its dismal record on doping.

Too right, they're nowhere near good enough at hiding it, they'll bring the Olympics int to disrepute.

Got to love how short the bans are, too, most of them didn't even miss a single Olympics.

I don't claim to really follow it, but why on earth would you need to dope when competing in equestrian?

I'm not sure if you're joking, but it's the horses that they drug. Typically some kind of pain relief, so the horse can ignore its body and keep on putting stress on their injuries. Never mind the horse, at least some clearing in the woods wins a medal.

Mongolian wrestling coaches strip in protest at result

Highlight of the whole thing for me, absolutely brilliant!

I love how after the one guy strips, the other coach appears to be trying to talk him down, then thinks **** it, I'm having some of this and gets down to his under crackers!

The only way this could have been any better, is if the big lad legit body slammed one of the judges through the table :crylaugh:

The commentator getting all uppity about it, makes it even funnier for me.

It perfectly fulfils Tory ideology - direct resources towards the elite and away from the oiks and claim that it proves we are a great country, while denying the reality.

I'm  a tree hugging socialist but I actually didn't  mind John Major.

There was a very telling moment on the radio the other day.

They were interviewing either the head of rowing or the head of sailing, I can't remember, but they asked him about lottery money, and he said 'yes, it's very important. We're not a school sport' - and then a small pause - 'well, we are in some very good schools'.

Safe from the jibes of burning proletarian rage

And the hope of nothing more than minimum-wage

Fixed! :)
