ml1dch
Doesn't particularly bother me either way, but I hope that the (let's charitably say) large minority of people who ruined the country just to stop foreigners from coming here are absolutely furious with how it's all gone. The pricks. 2
luckyeddie
The rich got richer and the rest got shafted. This was what Brexit was truly about. If we continue to vote in these pricks from Eton and Harrow it's only going to get worse. They treated the working class like shit 200 years ago and they are still doing it now. Their divide and conquer techniques are straight out of a narcissist handbook.
ml1dch
All good news. Go back, piece-by-piece into all the programmes we were in before. Also makes the next Government's inevitable "close alignment" move a lot easier when the Tories are quietly doing that anyway.
chrisp65
I’d like to imagine there’s a similar pooling of the talents club we could join around trade. Someone should look in to it.

Could be something could be nothing, I’m just thinking out loud.
Genie
Nice quote from that story Quote Britain benefitted more than any other EU country from grants handed out under the Horizon programme which offered funding and leadership of pan-European research groups and access to equipment and facilities. I hope the EU have learned their lesson.

My lad can't even get one as I wasn't a citizen at the time of his birth. Any future siblings of his would be able to though! I think it’s an easier process through a parent too. Mine was through a grandparent. Waiting time was 2 years when I applied but thankfully went down to approx 9 months (mine took 20). villaajax
Sadly I'm having to get a British passport under duress. I only have a Dutch passport and now keep getting hassled at the border coming back in. I mean, getting deported to a better country wouldn't be the worst thing in the world, it's just all my stuff is here.

Popular Post mjmooney Posted September 14, 2023 VT Supporter Popular Post Share Posted September 14, 2023 Quote The sight of hundreds of European Union flags at the Last Night of the Proms has prompted outrage from Brexiters and a call for the BBC to investigate. Those waving the EU flag in the Royal Albert Hall appeared to outnumber those waving the union flag at the event, which is usually a patriotic display, following a campaign by pro-Europeans. The spectacle of so many EU flags being waved as the hall belted out Rule, Britannia! provoked disgust from leading Eurosceptics. Harvey Proctor, a former Conservative MP, said it was a “disgraceful” display and called for an inquiry by the BBC, which organises and broadcasts the Proms. In a post on X, formerly known as Twitter, he said: “BBC must investigate how so many EU flags were waved & on display at The Last Night of the Proms. Disgraceful & misguided BBC messing up a British tradition; a political gesture which would make Sir Henry Wood turn in his grave. Utterly vulgar & wrong. Rule Britannia, not Rule EU!” Grauniad 1
