Unfortunately, I do think this will be a red rag to a bunch of morons who talk as though we're at war with the EU. The thought of Farage, Rees-Mogg and Boris being perpetually tortured by Satan won't comfort many people if/when the shit hits the fan on March 30th though. They are constantly on fire, appearing as little more than living, speaking tongues of flame.
chrisp65
My Brexit Bingo card suggests the responses will include the words Dunkirk and / or Battle of Britain. Liam Fox will suggests it's all the EU's fault anyway, for refusing to invent an armed but friendly invisible border unicorn. Boris will appear at a cliff somewhere and wave a pasty defiantly at the horizon. It will later be revealed the cliffs were in Finland and the pasty was a calzone.

I think maybe they've tried logic and being polite and following protocol and it's resulted in May unilaterally asking for another change to the backstop to include for imaginary inventions and a one way get out clause. So they've probably decided on trying another tactic, ridicule. Unfortunately, they clearly already know they are not dealing with logical people, but have totally missed this in their pitch. This will harden the resolve of all those geriatric morons hell bent on achieving year zero. It will also play in to the hands of their puppet masters, who can see all those mortgages and hospitals and prisons they can scoop up in the race to year zero.
Popular Post Rodders
I see nothing wrong with Tusk's comments whatsoever. It's accurate and fair still underproportional compared to the unending stream of bullshit that the brexit media and chums have fired towards the EU not just since the campaign but for the last 20 odd years. **** em all. It's quite satisfying to hear what they must have been thinking for so long during this shitshow of a negotiation. No plan was and is stupid, and the orchestration of it, by the ERG rocket polishers and friends was deceitful and governed by self interest and not enough people call them out for this horse shit. Of course many of the vocal outraged of tunbridge wells will relish the opportunity for another stupid rant without ever once stopping to digest the actual contents of the speech, but **** em. Just absolutely **** em. I'm sure they will continue their martyrdom complex built upon thorough ignorance, mind.

chrisp65
Let's just remember, however poorly the EU may have played today, it was a tory PM that decided to have a poorly thought out referendum, before we really knew what we wanted. It was a tory PM that played the referendum really poorly. It was a tory PM that decided we were leaving before we had a plan on how to leave or what we wanted. It was all those tory and labour MP's that voted it all through. Tomorrow's papers will have it all as Tusk's fault for being a bit rude.

WhatAboutTheFinish
Of course the UK government had a way to avoid the current backstop fiasco back in 2016, that was to hold parallel talks on withdrawal and future trade. The EU drew a completely arbitrary red line that has subsequently proved to be a mistake. Without it, the whole Irish border equation could have been resolved, one way or another, by now. Mr Tusk’s rhetoric of ‘We don’t accept this plan, we don’t accept this plan, we don’t accept this plan, why don’t you have a plan’ or ‘We won’t talk about future trade, we won’t talk about future trade, we won’t talk about future trade, why won’t you be clearer about what you want in the future?’ is wearing a bit thin.
Chindie Posted February 6, 2019 VT Supporter Share Posted February 6, 2019 The pearl clutching is hilarious. Let's not forget the unending parade of derogatory comments aimed at the EU over the past few years (and beyond). How many comparisons to the Nazis, Soviet prisons, various criminal allusions and other varied insults have come from Westminster, and even Ministers directly?

By wearing a bit thin, I take it you mean we were ill prepared and our team is incompetent. But we agreed the rules and started the game anyway. Now more and more people are realising just how badly this has been handled.
