I am less of a spelling Nazi and more of a jerk to be honest.

Proper grammar Nazi at work. :D

I think "I'm" is a perfectly acceptable abbreviation. Also, incidentally I never capitalise 'nazi' as I don't like to give them proper noun status, and to say you're 'less something' rather than 'less of a something' is also acceptable in my opinion...

Ha, but who cares, it's all just good fun :)

... Have we signed any one yet!?

Wot no signings, not even well conceived BS? I need hope for the week on a Monday and nothing but tenuous stuff out there today. I was expecting Morrison, DaLaet and Hernandez in today before the world class signing on Wednesday.....

'I'm' is actually a contraction not an abbreviation but who gives a shit. No, we haven't signed anyone yet. Bummer!

A contraction is an abbreviation. All very interesting stuff.

Also, just realised I could've cracked out one of these:

Now look what you've made me do. It's late at night and I have nothing better on.

An abbreviation (from Latin brevis, meaning short) is a shortened form of a word or phrase. It consists of a group of letters taken from the word or phrase. For example, the word abbreviation can itself be represented by the abbreviation abbr., abbrv. or abbrev.

In strict analysis, abbreviations should not be confused with contractions, acronyms, or initialisms, with which they share some semantic and phonetic functions, though all four are connoted by the term "abbreviation" in loose parlance.[1]:p167An abbreviation is a shortening by any method; a contraction is a reduction of size by the drawing together of the parts. A contraction of a word is made by omitting certain letters or syllables and bringing together the first and last letters or elements; an abbreviation may be made by omitting certain portions from the interior or by cutting off a part. A contraction is an abbreviation, but an abbreviation is not necessarily a contraction. Acronyms and initialisms are regarded as subsets of abbreviations (e.g. by the Council of Science Editors). They are abbreviations that consist of the initial letters or parts of words.

Newcastle Chronicle reporter thinks Bas Dost to them is a goer. Not sure if we are in for him, but there'll be competition.

I'm fairly positive we're not. This all stems from a random nothing article on goal.com.
