It’s clear that Boris heavily rewards those that back him, all part of the plan.

Yep. Way back in the thread, I was speculating on whether my MP (Stuart Andrew), a shameless Boris sycophant, would jump ship.

Just been made housing minister.

My MP had his WhatsApp message urging other MPs to post positive things about him “leaked”, now promoted to Deputy Chief Whip.

Pigs in a trough.

Further to the above: New housing minister Stuart Andrew was one of 72 MPs found to be a landlord (benefitting from rental income on a property in Leeds) who voted against a clause in the Housing and Planning Bill which would have ensure all rented homes were "fit for human habitation". He will now be in charge of meeting the target to build 300,000 new houses EVERY YEAR - not an easy thing to reconcile with his opposition for 70,000 houses IN THE NEXT 16 YEARS in Labour-controlled Leeds.

I can't quite believe it myself, but my MP stood up in the commons and told Boris he no longer has his support.

And my MP is Andrew Plebgate Mitchell

I'm as shocked as anyone

Thanks Boris, for delivering the turd everyone said would be a turd but you were adamant it was going to be a diamond.

Thank you for not at any point stopping and admitting it wasn’t a good idea and delivered it anyway.

What a man.

She's actually going to get us all killed isn't she?

Quote

Sergei Lavrov has a reputation for biting sarcasm - and it has emerged the veteran Russian foreign minister tripped up his UK counterpart Liz Truss with a question when they met behind closed doors today.

Truss was pressing for Russia to pull its troops back from Ukraine's borders and Lavrov was arguing that they were on their own national territory, Russia's Kommersant newspaper reports.

"You do recognise Russia's sovereignty over the Rostov and Voronezh regions?" Lavrov asked, referring to two Russian regions.

After a brief pause, the paper says, Truss replied: "Great Britain will never recognise Russia's sovereignty over those regions."

"Great Britain's Ambassador to the RF [Russian Federation], Deborah Bronnert, had to step in, delicately explaining to Ms Truss that the two regions [Rostov and Voronezh] are indeed Russian," Kommersant writes.

The British Embassy later tweeted (in Russian) this response from Truss: "During the meeting it seemed to me that Minister Lavrov was talking about a part of Ukraine. I have made clear that these regions [Rostov and Voronezh] are part of sovereign Russia."

This is what happens when incompetent idiots are installed in each cabinet position, based solely on their loyalty to the dear leader. It's terrifying.
