bickster Posted May 22, 2018 Moderator Share Posted May 22, 2018 Bit of an oddity I was researching... was in the car the other night playing some reggae playlist on spotify and this came on... and I instantly recognised the bassline as this... I automatically assumed that Aswad had done a dub version of Promised Land. Spotify didn't credit Aswad at all on Promised Land. So I got curious and did a bit of research on Discogs etc and discovered that the Dub version Mosman Skank isn't a version at all. Mosman Skank was released in 1982 on the soundtrack to the Countryman Film and Promised Land wasn't released until the following year. So Mosman ain't no version.... EDIT - ignore all that above, Mosman is indeed a Dub version of the Aswad song Love Fire, which I've just discovered by playing the Live and Direct album for the first time in yonks 3 Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
