wonder if these additional qualification places giving some of these "smaller" teams a better chance of qualifying has actually given them all a huge confidence boost and is flipping the qualification on its head

been lots of unexpected results so far

You a bit worried for the future Ajax? Robben, Snejider, RVP, Huntelaar, Vlaar and De Jong all between 29-31 now so all will retire around the same time, that's a huge amount of quality all in one go and you're losing games currently with them in the team.

Actually shows LVG did an exceptional job at the WC as Holland aren't really the third best team in world football.

they still seem to have the potential about but then in reality none of them are stepping up

the defenders are mostly young (which isnt always a good thing) klaasen, clasie, fer, blind, narsingh, wijnaldum all need to be better, they're missing strootman, you thn have van ginkel who's probably ruined it for himself at chelsea, castagnois and ola john havent done anything, still got rekik, denswill, vilhena, kishna, maher, depay, zivkovic

That and some of the bigger nations "relaxing" knowing they can lose 2-3 games and still quality like Holland probably will. Or they're just shite. ;)

Probably but they've been improving significantly for a good few years now so I don't think this is a total shock. I think a few on here called it when they reached and under 21 tournament a few years back and most of those are now in the full squad.

In terms of population, certainly a huge over achievement but good luck to them, hope they make the next world cup aswell.

Fair play to bale, the passion he showed at the end of their match was something to behold, if only England showed 50% of that desire to win England might have achieved something in the last 50 years.

Yep, he looked absolutely delighted

8-0 and 9 points after 3 games. Unbelievable.

Deserved win from a team with real talent and a coach with incredible tactical know how.

Who's the manager?

Lars Lagerback, former Sweden manager. The team looks like a machine today.
