The_Rev
How long do you think Basel can hang onto this Mohammed Salah guy for? He has looked great on half a dozen occasions against English opposition in the last couple of years. He's got 3 in 4 against Chelsea and he tore Tottenham a new one last year in Europe too. *edit* They are singing his praises on ITV now. Rafa Honigstein saying he's not that prolific in the league for Basel. He is doing okay at international level though, he has 17 in 26 for Egypt and he was the top goalscorer in the African section of qualifying for the 2014 World Cup. For somebody who isn't an out and out striker that is a great record. Edited November 26, 2013 by The_Rev
vandaq
He is great but above our payscale. I bet around summer/january 2015 and he is gone. Looks to have proven doubts the last couple of times it has been mentioned. Would love to have him here but he will at least go for 15+
The_Rev
He's never going to come here. I can't see him going to any club who isn't in the Champions League. Superb talent though.
BOF Posted November 27, 2013 Moderator Share Posted November 27, 2013 Mourinho talking earlier today about how he'd love to play the likes of Mata but unfortunately he can't start with 12, 13 or 14 players and if he played Mata he'd be asked about why he dropped Hazard or Oscar.Tonight he blamed tiredness for their utter abject performance against Basel. Can't have it both ways Mourinho. Maybe we'll see Mata at the weekend so.

AVFC_Hitz
I guess Mou just has a soft spot for Oscar. There'll be players frozen of any big squad. However, I don't like the way he's treating Mata...or Hazard to an extent.
Voinjama
The way he is treating Mata? Leaving him on the bench does not mean he is treated badly. Edited November 27, 2013 by Voinjama
BOF Posted November 27, 2013 Moderator Share Posted November 27, 2013 He doesn't mean 'treating him badly' in the 'train with the reserves' sense of the word but I think you know what he means tbh. He means that last year's Chelsea player of the year probably deserves more game time.
villa4europe
they played the 3 of them plenty of times last year, dropped frank deeper and played either him / ramires / mikel as a midfield 2 and then Oscar / hazard / mata as the 3 behind the striker its the role that ramires plays that ruins it, he's more box to box rather than holding, frank when they went on the 2 European runs was great in that role, mikel is shit
Zatman
How stupid is Ramires, Chelsea on the attack and he kicked a Basel player in front of referee and only got a yellow for it. as for Celtic vs Milan, ive seen better quality in a 3rd division game but nothing makes me happier than seeing them hooped rocket polishers knocked out of Europe with their famous atmosphere
Shillzz
Townsend shouting "Get in" when Marseille nearly scored was a highlight of the night for me. He'll be getting some stick for that. Poor Andy.
