Goal scoring midfielder sign him up

Yes please!

8 in 15 league appearances, plays in the hole. Utrecht aren't doing too well this season but he is still shining, he can do this too:

Aston Villa update

BBC Radio 5 live's Pat Murphy: "Aston Villa still haven't given up on signing Wes Hoolahan from Norwich City, even though they've had two bids turned down for the Republic of Ireland midfielder.

"Hoolahan, 31, wants to join his former manager Paul Lambert at Villa Park but there's been bad blood between the two clubs ever since Lambert left Carrow Road in the summer of 2012, taking key members of the backroom staff with him.

"Villa can't make any progress against a blank refusal by Norwich to negotiate over a player who's now just on the first-team fringe, valued at around £1m, but I understand they'll keep trying to land Hoolahan until time runs out."

If we don’t sign anyone else then we don’t, we shouldn’t just buy any old sod.

Some of the Fulham, West Am deals reek of the ones like we were stuck with. Scottish Cafu, Ireland etc etc.

Some might turn out okay some might not, if you think these were long planned targets then your just stupid clearly panic’s because they are stuck down there.

We shouldn’t just sign anyone, if our targets are not gettable then be patient until they are. It will be worth it in the end.

Just seems some fans are obsessed with the whole persona of a deadline day signing, for it to appear in yellow on SSN or whatever.

That's great but if our target is Hoolahan is he really worth waiting for? I don't think he is personally certainly not till the summer when he will get older aswell.

We certainly need a 10 or we will continue to struggle at home, recent wins are great but let's be honest we will continue to struggle at home without that creative player.

I don't think it's obsession far from it, it's something we need and it will improve us.

In England is bluntly named Jens Toornstra as a possible asset to Aston Villa on deadline day. The midfielder of FC Utrecht, according to British media everything manager Paul Lambert would wish, a principal who can score, and another from free kicks. Only Toornstra itself knows nothing of interest from England ... That let him know to Voetbal International.

8 in 15 league appearances this season, 12 in 15 last season (according to ESPN, I don't know the numbers off the top of my head) plays in the hole. Utrecht aren't doing too well this season but he is still shining I know that much, he can do this too:

I always get a bit more excited by links in foreign press as they have seemed to be more reliable in previous transfers.

Know literally nothing about him but his stats look good and has 2 caps for holland too.

This is not a rumour or anything. But has anyone seen Ryan Gauld play? Young Dundee Utd midfielder. Linked with quite a few big clubs.

If its not speculation its in the wrong thread

A good player in today could lift the spirits, as well as our win against WBA. Hopefully we'll take our high spirits for the Everton game.

Lee Cattermole for 4mill?
We already have Delph as our main player to get booked. No need for another :P

That Toornstra link says that the source is the English press.

Apparently the Birmingham Mail, another Dutch outlet reporting that Utrecht have possibly already signed a replacement:

FC Utrecht dreigt op de laatste dag van de transfermarkt nog zijn belangrijkste speler kwijt te raken. Aston Villa heeft namelijk een oogje op Jens Toornstra. De middenvelder ligt nog wel tot medio 2017 vast, dus Villa zal wel diep in de buidel moeten tasten als het Toornstra echt wil hebben. FC Utrecht heeft met Fernando Quesada al een nieuwe middenvelder vastgelegd. Een vervanger voor Toornstra? We zijn benieuwd. (Birmingham Mail)

FC Utrecht still threatens to hit. His main player lost on the last day of the transfer market Aston Villa has a crush on because Jens Toornstra. The midfielder is still in mid-2017, which means the Villa will have to grope as Toornstra really wants. Deep into their pockets FC Utrecht Fernando Quesada already recorded a new midfielder. A replacement for Toornstra? We are curious. (Birmingham Mail)

Sorry for all the quotes guys, best Dutch article so far though because it is in English:

The newspaper believes the Premier League club are admirers of the Dutch midfielder, and boss Paul Lambert could make a move before the transfer window shuts tonight.

Toornstra has been Utrecht’s best player all season, netting 11 goals in 26 appearances for the club in all competitions. Last year the playmaker was rewarded for his good form with a call-up to the Dutch national side for the friendlies with China and Indonesia.

The 24-year-old started his career with ADO Den Haag, making over 100 league appearances for the club before joining Utrecht in the January transfer window last year.

Utrecht will be reluctant to let their star man go, with the club currently in poor form, and sliding down the table, but they have just completed the signing of Barcelona midfielder Fernando Quesada. Is he Toornstra’s replacement? We will find out by 11pm tonight.
