The Danes wouldn't support spending 6 gazzilion quid so Infantino could bathe in goat's milk. That is the issue for FIFA, IOC etc. They want to be treated in a corrupt manner, something which won't happen if you put the tournament in Scandinavia. It's not long since IOC turned Norway\Sweden\Denmark down for the winter games due to them wanting to use already built infrastructure and for the fact that officials had to sort their own stuff out. They picked Russia\China and France instead.

Yep said this a lot. Choosing Germany etc in 06 which already had stadiums is going to be very rare. The prefer some shithole country with cash on the hip and next to no football infrastructure cos construction projects are easier to launder the dodgy cash

Does he? He has a Cameroon/Morocco final and Ghana to go out first knockout round and Senegal making the semi finals(after beating Iran and Tunisia😂)

Ah, remember when they said they were going to have stadiums with artificial weather systems to cool the pitch down or something? Turns out hosting a football tournament in the desert is a dumb idea, regardless of it being 'winter'.

They tried the air con stadium in the test event. Didn’t work. Obviously

Fans paid to attend World Cup by Qatar have daily allowance cancelled

  • Fan Leader Network money removed as people prepare to travel
  • Message blames ‘erroneous misinformed statements’ in media

Fans who have travelled to Qatar as part of a controversial paid-for supporters programme have been told by Qatari authorities that their cash has been cut.

The Fan Leader Network is a scheme run by the Supreme Committee for Delivery and Legacy, the Qatari agency responsible for the World Cup. It has recruited supporters from around the globe, offering travel and accommodation and a place at the World Cup opening ceremony in return for enthusiasm and positive social media content. But the Guardian can reveal that a per diem payment for food and drink, upon which some supporters were depending, was cancelled just as fans were packing to travel to the Gulf.

Members of the Fan Leader Network from two European countries said their payments had been cancelled three days ago and that authorities had blamed the decision on the bad press which followed the revelation that fans were being paid.

“Due to the recent developments in the media, we are keen to protect our visiting fans from the erroneous misinformed statements regarding ‘fans receiving payment for the trip’. Accordingly, the daily allowance will unfortunately no longer be issued. The allowance was intended as a small uplift on your own personal funds to assist with refreshments during your stay.”

so a guy at work had arranged it all, on the basis he could work from the hotel/apartment etc on the days england aren't playing. his boss said no to that proposal so he's resigned, got a new job at a london firm on more money, only 2 days in the office, and doesn't start till just before xmas so gets to spend the whole world cup in Qatar
