  1. Absolutely correct. I've been there in sell outs in the 48k days and that night against Albion was way more than I'd ever experienced. BTW - the best finish to a game I can remember!
  2. You're a canny lad but you need to strap your boots in tighter
  3. Gary Gardner - s... before and s... after!
  4. A double wammy for Sky as they won't have any pics or quote of 'arry leaving the training ground in his Range Rover!
  5. Agree with this and don't understand all of the negativity. He can be frustrating but so can all players. The key point is that he's delivering and more so than any winger in the league that I can think of - happy to be corrected.
  6. David James was amazing (some would say crazy) at coming for crosses. I never had the confidence with him though that I do with Emi.
  7. Agreed. But that's not the way that we work as individuals - we want motivation, targets, achievements. I understand your point but it's like saying Stan Collymore can't be depressed because he's rich.
  8. I genuinely feel sorry for Lans - a good guy who's apparently a big positive in the team but for whom it just hasn't worked out for a combination of reasons. Good luck and thank you from my perspective.
  9. Jack got a fist hand reminder on what a "r(ichard) sole" Southgate is and how he's "respected" by the team when two 20 year olds give him the big middle finger to his pearls of wisdom & authority. Image Sir Alf, Brian C or Alex F's response!!! What a clearing in the woods
  10. Don't know what you mean by "referencing turnip as a Villa fan"?
  11. Totally agree. This is Mr "look at me" who talks about morals and professionalism & left Villa by sending a transfer request via fax from an England squad - Arsehole! Very bitter as his "professionalism" led to him going to a team with ambition, Middlesborough FFS! Mr Sensible who has struck lucky with a talented team - turnip head v2
  12. Totally agree. Seems that their so called journalism consists of monitoring twitter. I remember the good old days when The Mail had seasoned journalists that had inside contacts, trust and info from the club. Could you imagine anyone at Villa confiding in these clowns.
  13. I quite genuinely think they are...... I had a guy around to give me a quote for removal of a tree and we got talking about football. It turns out he's a nose but was able to give me a full rundown on the Villa season and where we'd gone wrong. I asked him about the noses and he was a bit unsure and couldn't remember the name of the player that they'd sold to "some German team" but heard he was really good!
  14. What an epic contribution to the world - I propose we retire his number.

    John Terry

I assume that's both of them?

    John Terry

A useful squad player if Wes or Hogan are out.

    Keinan Davis

I agree with this. I'm not sure where to get it but I'd like to see the stats based on minutes played and games started. I acknowledge however that he's clearly not prolific but better than these stats suggest.
  18. Wes - NOT SURE. Certainly overpaid but too early to judge and certainly not as overpaid as some of the other signings in the Premier League e.g. Everton Trez = DISAGREE. I think he's a good squad player and has that special nack of delivering when needed Targett - DISAGREE. Ball playing, left footed fullbacks are at a premium. £13m is the going rate and he's improving - it's only his first year in the PL Premier League as a starter. Nakamba - AGREE Heaton, Reina, Guilbert, Hause, Mings (just about), Konsa, Engels, Luiz, El Ghazi, Samatta were good signings for the money based on what we had already/have seen - AGREE with all but Samatta - looks lost to me and way below Jodja Suso - AGREE, will move on Smith - UNSURE. Is doing well belatedly but in some key games such as Watford and Bournemouth we just didn't turn-up which is worrying and our record against the top teams is the worst of the bottom pack (I think I saw on VT). I'm also conserned that he still doesn't know his best team and formation. To be fair though the Premier League is new to him as well as the players and I therefore cut him some slack.
  19. I'm absolutely sick to death of the quality of this paper - this is the second city in the UK and the paper seems to be staffed by children. It daily focus is to sell Jack, entice you with click-bait on any subject and to cause conflict and dissatisfaction at VP. No wonder they've no insight into what is going on at VP - quite seriously, who would confide in these amateurs. I look forward to the next Villa Nazi Salute rehash and the Ranger Friendly review - and they call it journalism, jeese!!!
  20. Because it's a semi final and we've got a fist choice keeper. Personally I'm happy with him starting as he's made some exceptional saves which he doesn't get credit for.
  21. I think Jack's been below his normal self recently with a lot of misplaced passes and as sidcow said, he's starting to get fed-up. He does however need to remember that however good he is he's not going to always beat a team on his own - sometime the simple pass is the best.
  22. Agree with this and think this is the way forward. The only thing I'd suggest is that rather than Wes have Kodj who is more likely to turn the centre half and play on their shoulder for through balls.
  23. I sit in the Doug Ellis Upper close to the visting supporters and have a close-up view on our LBs - I think people are being unfair on Taylor. Yes, he's poor going forward and rarely (if ever) have I seen him put in a decent cross (or God forbid a shot!). However, defensively and positioning wise I think he's good (better than Targett). Frequently he covers across the left entre half and clears problems. Last night he was left totally exposed by Hourihane and Trez - in fact, a number of times he was arguing with both players about the lack of support he was getting. It's fine to criticise him but not when he's consistently left two or even three on one.
  24. I've been a supporter of Wes but today was just terrible. I honestly wonder whether Dean is obliged to play him or it is within Wes's contract that he's obliged to play. When you're in a team and you can't get an opportunity when your competition is playing that poorly then what must it do for your motivation. Bite the bullet Dean.
