  1. Glad to see he's dropped Lingard, Oxlaide-Chamberlain & Alli. However Grealish should be getting a call up over Delph, he offers nothing to England anymore.
  2. It's funny that in Kodjia's first season he smashed it with a poor team around him. We said imagine how good he could be with a good team around him. Second season he missed due to injury. During the car crash of a summer we all were desperate for him to stay at the club. Third season with a good team he was kept out by Tammy who was more than prolific. Fourth season, we now have a good team. Surely we should at least give him a chance to show what he can do?
  3. The one change for Career mode. Cheers EA, that should solve everything.
  4. I've got 3 episodes to go and I can't be arsed to watch them. Glad it's finally over.
  5. Take another job, hate it after only a few months in and regret letting the chance pass you by. Or Move to an area you like with a job you enjoy. What was the question again?
  6. Bringing Davis on with 5 minutes to go was pointless. If you've played football and come on from the bench you will know it usually takes 5 minutes to get up to the pace of the game. The change needed to come with 20-25 minutes to go. I get the arguments regarding saving a substitution in case of injuries but Wesley was so ineffectual that we were almost playing with 10 men anyway.
  7. The most annoying part about Wesley is, everything we want him to do is exactly what he did against Everton. We just need him to do it again and on a consistent basis. Bully centre backs and me a real menace up front.
  8. Completely agree, the problem is stemming from our inability to hold the ball up. Wesley won 1 out of 7 aerial duels on Saturday, if he could hold onto it more often then it relieves the pressure on the defense and allows us to keep possession and play our own game. Goal scoring shouldn't come into it as both Wesley and Davis are hardly prolific, and for the most part this season goals haven't been our problem. If we can retain possession up front with an effective out ball it gives us options in Grealish, McGinn, El Ghazi and Trezeguet to make the most of it. For me Davis is worth a shot on Saturday to see how the team looks with him in it and to see if he can retain the ball more for us. The goals will come for him at some stage.
  9. Ah I think I may have misinterpreted your post. I read it as though you wanted to scout players by positional role. I guess you want to search for them by positional role yourself, which you can't do as you have to scout them to find it first. I would also like this added it's a right pain when I spend time scouting a player to find they are a no nonsense defender with a passing attribute of 1.
  10. Why is it that when we have a great player putting in brilliant performances all we do is cry about him leaving at the end of the season? Just enjoy it whilst it lasts you miserable sods.
  11. Pretty sure the injury will just be cramp. He has barely played due to injury this season and has now just played two games in a week. Was one of our best players first half, and we looked a lot weaker when he went off the pitch. In my opinion both goals we conceded wouldn't have happened with him on the pitch. He's almost like the left back version of Guilbert and really excelled getting forward and whipping crosses into the box. There were times where he picked the ball up out wide and I mistook him for Grealish (possibly due to the boots being similar). It's refreshing to have a left back who can have the ball in the opposition half and is a threat. Hope to have him back on Saturday, if not Hause should get a run out at left back.
  12. With Saturday now out of the way it's a bit easier to take a look back on where we are. The result in itself, a draw against Burnley, really isn't the end of the world. They are an established PL side and for large parts of the game we were by far the better side. At this stage in the season performances are the key to looking at where the season could go. If you look at teams like Newcastle and Watford, both are showing no signs of picking up any sort of form. Norwich and Brighton both started brightly but have dipped and their performances are poor. In the mix then are Everton, Wolves, Southampton and Villa. Performance wise in large periods of games we have been the better team, it's the fine tuning that we now need apply to ensure that we don't let games slip. If the results don't come then panic may set in, but right now we are still adapting and it was never going to be any different. For all that people are complaining about Wesley not scoring, the goals are still flowing. It's the other end of the pitch where the mistakes are being made. I honestly think with another month behind us, we will start to turn the draws into wins and climb up the table. Despite what was said in the Summer, we were never going to push for Europe in our first season back. The Dean Smith Project is now only coming up to it's first year, we need at least another season to stabilize ourselves before we can begin to push on. Finishing 17th in the PL this season will allow us to reset and really push next season, and that should be our aim right now. There's no need to be getting ahead of ourselves and having meltdowns over not winning every single week. There's a bigger picture here.
  13. I would be interested to know what you have seen from us so far this season to think we would lose 3-0 at Norwich?
  14. Exactly how I'm looking at it now.
  15. The way I see it EA have had a year since FIFA 19 to develop and refine FIFA 20 for release. They've now released a broken game to millions of people who have each payed around £50 for a copy. If FUT was broken and people were unable to purchase packs EA would have it fixed within 24 hours. I don't buy a game for it to be a more refined game in a years time. I buy a game for it to be fully working at the time of release.
  16. Against Burnley is there even a need to play a deep midfielder? I'm not saying Burnley are a poor side as they are an experienced PL team, but with them playing 4-4-2 there isn't a major threat in behind the midfield. It may be worth dropping the deep midfielder tomorrow and going with either option: Heaton Guilbert Engels Mings Targett McGinn Hourihane Jota Grealish Trezeguet Wesley Or Heaton Guilbert Engels Mings Targett McGinn Grealish Hourihane Jota Wesley Trezeguet
  17. I think that's based on the mask he's wearing from his fractured cheekbone rather than his superior football skills
  18. Yeh I don't understand the match making system either. Getting smashed in most games online right now, in other games I'm either nicking wins or clinging on to draws.
  19. Early day's but this is the team I have built so far. Not many TOTW Serie A players available as of yet. Looking forward to playing with Immobile tonight, looks decent. Need to sort out the CB's next.
  20. Have to agree with the FUT thing. I've never actually spent money on packs, but the temptation is always there. I've heard some pretty bad stories about kids getting into it though, spending money on their parents credit/debit cards and racking up enormous bills with no clear knowledge of what they are doing, all in the act of hoping to pack a Messi, Ronaldo or team of the week player. Since I've been playing FUT I've always worked hard building a team from scratch, adding decent players by grinding out games to accumulate coins. However playing online games against teams where people have blatantly spent 100's-1000's on packs and have the best team going is infuriating, especially in the first few weeks. I can see how people/kids can quickly get drawn into spending money on the hunt for players to sort their team out after getting battered 7-0 online. It may sound stupid to some people, but with gaming as an addiction companies like EA abuse the use of FUT knowing that people will fall into the trap. For those that do spend a lot of money on it each year, give it a go this year building a team without spending any 'real money'. It's infuriating, hard but incredibly rewarding. Would also like to echo the appreciation for @kent_villa & @Rugeley Villa posts. Incredibly interesting insight into addiction.
