  1. Or they are already guaranteed promotion but need to ensure they win their final game of the season to win the title...
  2. Ah yes you are all correct on Benteke in all competitions, I somehow managed to overlook that!
  3. Last player to score 20 league goals in their first season was Peter Withe in 80/81 Last player to score 20 goals in all competitions in their first season was Simon Stainrod in 85/6
  4. How many consecutive league wins is the club record?
  5. Surprised about the comments on Bacuna, I thought he was one of the best players on the pitch last night. He gave us an energy in the midfield pressing defenders and getting up and down the pitch all game for us. He was dead on his feet by the end. Overall a tough game to watch but the midfield/defence did their job brilliantly and we've come away with yet another win. Fatigue was clearly setting in tonight with two games in 4 days. Playoffs here we come

Unfortunately I can't see us winning this one, our form lately has been dire. Whilst we will probably yet again score the most goals we just won't be able to keep hold of the ball long enough to see the game out. 30% - 70% to QPR Bruce Out

Johnstone Hutton Chester Baker Taylor Jedinak Hourihane Lansbury Adomah Kodjia Green Subs - Bunn, Elphick, Bree, Amavi, Grealish, Bacuna, RHM I am assuming Hogan is out for at least a week Would be nice for RHM to get a cameo appearance under his belt to see what the fuss is about 2-0 win for me!
  8. This makes absolutely no sense. We had less possession today and won... So statistically your statistics are wrong.
  9. I would give Tshibola game time over Gardner... see what he can do with Lansbury or Hourihane next to him in the midfield.
  10. Yeh but Hutton is more of a winger/playmaker now anyway...
  11. The starting eleven almost picked itself due to injuries and players not being fully fit for 90 minutes...
  12. Some of the comments on here suggest that if we had hired another manager we would be playing more attractive football than Bruce, and that he is a dinosaur when it comes to playing free flowing attractive football. But when you look at the team that we ended last season, to the team we now have that is one massive change to undertake in a year. Even if we had Mourinho, Conte, Guardiola in charge I think they would have struggled to get us playing exciting football this season. Unfortunately for it to happen it's going to take time. Bruce isn't actively asking this team to play rubbish football. He is trying to get them to play well together, but half of this side have never played together before and so it's going to take a while for partnerships to link up all over the park. We have conceded 1 goal in the last 6 games... In the previous 6 games we conceded 13 goals... Progress At this stage last season we conceded 18 goals in the previous 6 games... Progress We are a huge work in progress but it's finally coming together, defensively we are much stronger than we were before, and more importantly we are picking up points again. The exciting attacking will come, no doubt about it.
  13. Unfortunately he wouldn't drop to the Championship, his transfer fee would cost our entire Summer budget and his wages are currently 120k per week... If we had gone up this season I think it would have been a realistic possibility
  14. 3 points are 3 points whether you scrape a win or smash a team 4-0... For me even if we manage either of these methods we will fall short, I can't see the teams above us having such a drastic drop in form as we require
  15. Last season was one of the worst in the entire history of the club. This season was never going to be best of seasons, although we all dreamt of it during the Summer. One of the worst seasons of the last 5 years though? Not a chance, Dr Xia coming in, exciting transfer windows, winning games again. The club is undergoing a huge turnaround and this season has been the beginning of it. Next season is the one
  16. Last season we were an awful football team with many, many flaws. This season we are slowly but surely ironing out each and every flaw, unfortunately we expected this to happen over the summer but we have now realised that it is going to take the full season and another pre season to finish the job. So far with the Summer and January windows we have shipped out the deadwood and brought in a mixture of very good to good Championship footballers. Before that I would say the majority of our squad were poor to average Championship players. We have gotten rid of the losing mentality in the side, players have got a 'winning feeling' back and no longer give up when going a goal behind. We are starting to play for 90 minutes and you can see the players are there to win football matches. We have formations tied down that we know work with the players we have, you could say this is still a work in progress but it's a lot better than it was to start at the beginning of the season. This will only improve as players come back from injury. The final stage of this is now to play some exciting football, to iron out the mistakes we are making and consistently perform. However in saying this I would take a win over a good performance any day. Pre season and another transfer window will help Bruce bring in a couple more of the right type of players for this league and his side, along with possibly some players returning from loan. All in all we are currently winning games and not conceding goals, exciting football is the next step but we now have the basics back and we can begin to build our club back up again. Things are looking up, absolutely no doubt about it.
  17. Wasn't worth changing it as we played pretty well last week. Grealish, Hogan & Lansbury on the bench gives us plenty of options to change things if it doesn't work again. I think we will win this one 2-0, Kodjia and Hogan with a goal each
  18. I keep opening this thread to see if anyone now 100% believes we will make it... Deep down I know its not possible, and it's probably best we have another season to rebuild the club and the team against weaker opposition (albeit not as weak opposition than we anticipated)
  19. It could be argued that McCormack and Hogan could have played better without Kodjia beside them as he can be too selfish... However Benteke was a player of a similar mould and he could be pretty selfish at times. He moved on and look where we found ourselves without him... No doubt about it Kodjia has had a huge effect on us this season and if we can get him a decent supply next season he could take us all the way back to the Premiership. He's also a player who could probably do a job in the Premiership (a step up that players like McCormack and Rhodes have failed to make over the past few years)
  20. Looking through Forest fans tweets on McCormack he isn't rated highly at all...
  21. Unfortunately the football will not be great until we are back in the Premiership again, that just isn't how the Championship teams work bar the top 2... and even they flop at times (look at Newcastle's last few games they have been poor) In saying that if this team can pull together going into next season we could see some half decent stuff!
