  1. Agreed didn’t see it in real time but watching the clip not sure what the fuss is all about. Imagine he’s in the slips and catches the ball and then slides the ball along along the ground. Not a catch.
  2. Hhhmmm like a lot of the reports of Musks/Twitters imminent demise seems like BS. I’ve been trying to break the limit for the past hour and failed must have viewed a lot more than 600 posts.
  3. I wouldn’t worry - no release clause so anyone who wants him badly enough would get absolutely rinsed. Very difficult to see it happening.
  4. Another morsel for the meat grinder. On Ferran Torres - seems to play most of his football from left so guess club will be looking at him as an alternative to Harvey Barnes. On one hand he’ll be cheaper than Barnes as for sure Spammers will go hard (Kenneth) for Barnes and have lots of money post Rice. However my feel is part of low “fee” for Torres is Barca creating room for any buying club to be able to pay his wages. Torres also seems like the more intelligent player, you don’t get picked by Pep unless you’ve got great football brains. Should hopefully help us control games which is a key part of Emery plan. So on paper it all stacks up. There is just something that worries me. Does Barnes, someone who is already settled in area and has lots of PL experience make more sense than Ferran Torres who got homesick living in UK not that long ago and has VERY clearly verbalised his ambitions not to move on several occasions this summer?
  5. A fair point, given how much emphasis he placed on playing out from the back it’s no surprise he wants what the kids call a “baller” in there.
  6. I think plan is to play a lot of games this season and give ourselves options in all of them. So far we've signed Tielemans to give cover/competitions/options for Douglas Luiz and potentially Torres to do the same for Mings. They were two front runners for player of the season this year. All it tells us so far is that Unai really meant it when he said he wanted two good players for every position. Bodes well in my book for the rest of the squad and our summer plans.
  7. And the rest. Would be perfect for us but very little chance in it happening.
  8. I hope he’s offering them £15m and Robin Olsen for Harry Kane.
  9. Any idea why Fiorentina would have a lower rank than us when they reached the final of this very tournament last year?

    Tyler Adams

He impressed me that day but its literally the only time I've seen him play.

    Tyler Adams

I think we are gearing up to aim to go long in all four competitions. After watching Luiz and Kamara go toe to toe with MacAllister and Caicedo on last day of season I'm not sure anyone can be putting that kind of running/performance in twice a week with out a serious drop off in levels. I think Unai meant it when he said he wants two good players for every position. I think he seems Adams athleticism as more suited to modern game than Dendonker. Whats maybe a bit surprising if Adams does come in is McGinn not being seen as an able fill in for Kamara or Luiz when they are in need of a rest. He did an excellent job last season when Kamara was out and was MOTM in one of two of the games i think. Suggests Emery wants him further forward which is fine, but he'll need to add more goals and assists I think.
  12. Can we build a list of all possible wingers who are valued at big dollar and then perhaps have a think about who might be likely to join. It’s nice we are going after big names but it would be nicer if we could land one of them.
  13. Everyone knows the Saudis just want to see worldies and volleyed back passes from anywhere along the left wing. It’s the job Bertie’s been training for his whole life.
  14. I finally beat Antonio! Felt good!
  15. No I don’t mean merging the leagues they will know that fans will throw toys out the pram with that one. I just meant that Saudis will end up owning a slice of the league itself rather than just a team in it. The “merger” was just a reference to how the deal in golf was sold to general public.
  16. Sure I remember reading that Brentford game when we one 4-0 was first game they all started together. Not sure if they played too many more before Ings left?
  17. My guess is the end game will be buying/merging with PL as they’ve done in golf or same thing with CL/Super League whatever you want to call it. They are an irresistible force once they start throwing the money about so end game (that they will be one’s calling shots) seems pretty inevitable. At least some of the golfing world showed a moral backbone (for a while). I’d be surprised if football puts up much of a fight. Been run by money for a long time to it’s a pretty logical conclusion. Think a lot of fans will be pretty pissed but also pretty powerless.
  18. Saudis are coming to take the game and nobody knows what to do about it.
  19. Given his ability Neves is going to finish up having had a very ODD career.
  20. Out of interest if they were staunch Labour why do they read the Daily Mail? Presuming that isn’t the case do you know what changed their mind?
  21. No worries if you don’t like him but seems a bit odd to call him a weirdo obsessed with transfers I’m pretty sure he makes a living doing this. He might not be a journalist, but I bet there are many many journalists very envious of the niche he’s carved for himself.
  22. One thing that’s fair to say is Tielemans looks a very different player to Ugarte. So if our interest in him was real there might be something in this link. Prob not though.
  23. Well Unai did say he wants 2 strong players for every position. I’d have thought McGinn has shown he can stand in for Bouba when needed but who knows. Liverpool seem to be most strongly linked so maybe it’s agent talk. Is it Collomosse? Then might be something to get interested in. edit - it’s David Kent - no idea who he is.
