  1. He obviously isn’t shit. He’s a very solid PL player but not someone who would get into a top 6 side which is why none of them have tried to buy him despite his impressive numbers over the years.
  2. Congratulations - you win the internet today.
  3. I think they will see a point as enough and given how we've struggled against teams that drop deep I'd expect them to do just that. Give us the ball but make it difficult for us and back their attacking players to hit us on the break. Will be interesting to see how that works out. The golden rule of PL (especially under Emery) still holds. First goal wins.
  4. Agreed seems like Felix all over again. That said it seems like we might chase a few of these type of players this summer and who knows we might land one. Big clubs can’t buy everyone even though Chelsea might have a good go.
  5. Lets see. Getting linked with a different world star every day at this point so who knows what comes off. That said if we are looking to replace Luiz in starting 11 (a man currently in second place for fans player of year on VT), then we are REALLY not messing around.
  6. Could I get a Tier level check on Jordan Davies please?
  7. That year was first thing that jumped to my mind too
  8. I wonder if it might be a loan because can’t see City taking the haircut required on fee for Phillips and can’t see anyone willing to pay a decent fee when he hasn’t been fit for so long except maybe West Ham if they sell Rice. Walker - prize but probably the perfect player for what we need in that position. Pace, played most of his career against top class opposition and generally always performed well, used to playing in possession based team. The wages, personality and age would be painful but if it gets us into Europe so be it.
  9. Clutching at some seriously invisible straws here. But if City actually did get some kind of punishment for the many years of flagrant cheating (don’t laugh ). Would that potentially open up another European spot?
  10. If it was Otavio - they would probably have been impressed by this.
  11. Harold Makoudi - was that the guy who was basically signed until he met Bruce and thought better of it.
  12. I think the media will link us to everyone but I’d be surprised if we buy anyone from them to be honest. Feels like that would have to be breaking some kind of rule if a transfer goes through while he’s working for both teams.
  13. Presumably he will end his career in US then? Difficult to see where else he could go. Newcastle if they wanted to make a statement, he obviously has Saudi connections. Don’t see any of the big clubs in PL paying enough to make it happen.
  14. Am I the only one who thinks they’d have stayed up fairly comfortably under Marsh?
  15. His form has dipped this year, but TBF his position in Emery system has required one of the largest adjustments from his natural game. Funnily enough he was starting to really hit form just as he got injured. Him coming back to help for last few games would be very welcome in my book.
  16. An interesting game, as with every game in this run I’ve no idea how it’ll play out. Young has shown himself to be vulnerable to pace in recent weeks so sticking Rashford on him and Wan Bissaka to nullify Moreno are two very obvious moves. Will be interesting to see how the master Unai prepares us to counter that. I’d back Watkins to cause their defence problems. Let’s hope they travel up to Manchester the night before so he can get a good nights kip in.
  17. How does that work? That puts us on 59 points. If Brighton win next 7 thats puts them on 70 points.
  18. Interesting. A 21yr old Championship forward player with 11 goals and 4 assists in 35 games. I have an interesting piece of ITK that Villa have already signed a 21yr Championship forward player with 10 goals and 6 assists in just 18 games this summer. Deal is done and he will come to us this summer.

Is there a points per pound table anywhere? Would be interesting not just for this season but others as well. edit - Found this below. Forest worst, Chelsea next. Brighton and Brentford best performers followed by us and Palace. https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/premier-league/transferausgabentabellenplatz/wettbewerb/GB1
  20. Agreed - he looks made for Italian league to me.

Just to update this because it makes for such good viewing. Almost enjoying their run as much as ours.
  22. It was a very flat atmosphere but it was also a very flat game. I could count the chances for both sides on one hand and even then I'd have three fingers spare. Fans are humans with emotions and not surprising they get more excited by the previous game to this one. Several times last night chants were started but nothing could get sustained because the game was so flat.
