Yeah stats should never be looked at without context. Are plenty of strikers who just scores tap ins, or attackers who don't score that many goals but who still offers a lot. Wesley for me does neither, sadly.

Yeah, but disregarding the 9.0 he did score twice. That's still above an average performance IMO. If we are not going to count goals and assists however soft then It's getting silly. And while clean sheets, goals, assists and what not adds a lot Whoscored are not quite that binary. Was probably a 7/10 game but with 2 goals and 1 assist. Are plenty of other games where he's been below par. The Norwich games was not one of them.

Hourihane, El Ghazi and Grealish also had really good games against Norwich. As did a couple others, was a team effort where we created a lot while not having a huge amount of the ball as per usual these days.

I don't rate the guy but 2 goals and 1 assist is above average for anyone except Messi. Even with the missed pen he got a 9.0 on whoscored.
  5. He'd be an upgrade but he wouldn't be my first choice. Doubt Plop are looking to loan him out as well. Just to add I have no set choice on who we should get since I've no idea what money we have available.
  6. On loan? He signed a new 5 year contract in July.
  7. Schalke keeper Alexander Nübel channeling Harald Schumacher with a horribly timed horror tackle against Frankfurt . This one got the red it deserved. The most blatant red card of the year.
  8. While the cup might not be a huge priority while fighting to avoid relegation I still want us to win this. Obviously because I always want us to win. But also because it's getting far to familiar to that first season under Lambert and losing to the Plop kids team would be this season equivalent to crashing out to League 2 Bradford.

    Kortney Hause

Won a whopping 9 headers according to Whoscored. 2 more than the nearest player who was McGoldrick with 7
  10. His last goal or assist was on October 5th against Norwich. No matter how you look at that this not good enough, especially for someone who has played almost every minute since. Add to that his overall play and contribution is suspect at best and he looks like he's at a loss to where and how he should be positioning in our tactic. He's playing like he's in a front 2 while actually playing as lone striker.
  11. Starting to feel more and more like that first season under Lambert. Hopefully the Christmas period will not be quite as bad. It's like we've lost belief in what we are doing. A supposedly ball playing team who are making very few passes and have very little of the ball. We are in serious trouble, hopefully we have a striker and a winger lined up on January 1st because we are slipping.
  12. It's been like this since the days of Savo, trust me.
  13. We are 18th in passes made, only Newcastle & Burnley are worse, by a fair bit thou. We are 18th in touches, only Newcastle & are worse, by a fair bit thou. We don't play possession football, we might try, but we don't do it currently. Having a guy up top to whom the ball sticks would likely help a lot, not sure Trez is that guy thou.
  14. Yeah I think it's both. Big foreign players have a hard time getting calls from refs in the PL until they get more established.
  15. All they care about is them being able to put out enough cheap (read free) components for the US industry. Not sure how they are going to do that in a high rise mind.
  16. So they are closing Rikers Island and replacing it with prison skyscrapers in the middle of Manhattan. So many sci-fi movies would tell you that this is a terrible idea. https://www.theguardian.com/cities/2019/dec/09/new-yorks-high-rise-prisons-what-could-go-wrong
  17. New deal for Klopp at Pool. And for Gerrard at Rangers. Both contracted to 2024.

Not ideal, guess it could have even worse. https://www.birminghammail.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/aston-villa-news-tyrone-mings-17414985
  19. I was wondering what Satan was up to these days, now I know. Bit weird that they basically played the Stranger Things base track in the background this episode
  20. Posted yesterday about our recruitment. http://sportwitness.co.uk/pitarch-connection-helped-aston-villa-raid-belgian-market-summer-helped-three-transfers/ There is also a piece in the Mail about our recruitment team but it doesn't mention anything we don't already know.
  21. Episode 1 of The Grand Tour S4 was actually quite entertaining. I only watch the "great adventure" episodes as I have zero interest in cars and this was one of the better ones. Season 4 of sci-fi epic The Expanse is also out in full today. Not really a fan but it's OK for the most part.
  22. Malmö FF actually winning their group in the Europa League ahead of Copenhagen, Dynamo Kiev and Lugano. Not the strongest group ever but still impressive
  23. Always signed Tymon in FM17 Him and Bree and you had amazing full backs for 10 seasons.
  24. Club hero who decided to invest in a club that isn't them in another city. They feel betrayed and are petulant children.
  25. Sorry, don't agree with anything about this.
