  1. Sad to say but for the first time in a few years I don't plan on renewing. Can't keep handing over £500 in the hope things will improve under the current regime. I can only see improvement if the club is sold, or we get a proper manager in who knows what is needed (Moyes for example).
  2. Just donated, plenty of time to smash past that target before the Newcastle game! Keep up the great work, and thanks for all the efforts put in so far by the Protest Group and likeminded fans. It's well appreciated by myself and other ST holders, we do not have the choice to stay away, we are already committed financially, and most of us emotionally.
  3. Just RT'd the open letter. I'll be walking out again on 74 at the weekend. Keep up the good work guys. Up the Villa!
  4. Looking like a very low attendance for this one. Can't see it even clearing 25k.
  5. It was the pre-made banners in the Holte that has meant they take it so personally still to this day 'Sob on the Tyne' and 'Who's your next Messiah, Ant or Dec?' I would have expected them to have eased up by now, but hey ho!
  6. Yep they received 13m more in prize money for finishing 7th as opposed to our 17th, and around 2m more in TV money due to being shown more. With these two things going in their favour it offset all of the 14-15m extra revenue we generated in other areas.
  7. Well it's only 1500 not 2000 but still fair play to those going, and it's a sellout of what we were given.
  8. Must have closed off the first few rows of the upper. Villa season ticket holders in both North Stand Upper and Lower have been told they can't claim their seats.
  9. I'd go with this with probably one change, Richards for Bacuna.
  10. From an article March 2015, shortly after our most recent accounts were released: ''Gross debt of £104 million mainly comprises owner debt of £86 million (£69 million owed to the parent undertaking and £17 million of loan notes), though the bank loan and overdraft is up from £13.6 million to £18 million.'' Even if Lerner waives the interest, that's nearly 70 million we owe to him, not a good situation.
  11. Very strange post from someone with 7500+ posts on a football forum.
  12. I'm not going. Not in protest as such, just that VP was freezing last night and I can make the effort midweek for a Premier league team but struggle for motivation against a lower league outfit in a cup replay.
  13. Don't worry about the 60million drop in income which hits next season chaps, I've got us the 500k loan fee back for Llori for the second half of the season!.. Is probably what Tom Fox is saying to Lerner right now
  14. I think what's funny or depressing, depending how you look at it, is that whenever Villa fans this season say 'X is better than Y, X should play', whenever X then does eventually come in to the team, they end up being just as bad
  15. I think Garde's thinking will have changed on loaning out Grealish following Adama's lengthy lay-off.
  16. Quite like him after originally not rating him. For 6.5m there is better out there though, be happy if we got him for 3-4m.
  17. Good to see positivity, but unfortunately we'll need more than 0.81 points per game even if we went on a miraculous run and won our next 3. It would leave us with 16 points from 20 games, requiring a further 22 points from 18 games at 1.22 PPG. A fairly tough ask, as over the season that equates to 46 points, a total we haven't amassed since the 2010-2011 season.
  18. Apparently the allocation was upped to 3,000 due to the initial 2,000 selling out. Still a few hundred left.
  19. I have heard that going off with stress stays on your record. Not sure how easily accessible this is to future employers, but would always be in the back of your mind knowing it's there.
  20. De Jong's was a shocking miss, BUT, the flag should have gone up just before as when the move started the guy in the middle was way offside.
  21. That was the only period where I remember him being poor for a sustained run of games. That was in a team with the shackles very much on thanks to Lambert, where from memory I think we scored 12 goals in 25 games. Admittedly Benteke appeared to lose interest and lacked effort for probably 5-10 games, no more than that, as he was injured for part of that run. Last season he started well? The one before last he scored 3 goals in the opening 3 games.
  22. I don't need to read a forum to 'confirm' a view on a player I watched with my own eyes pretty much every week for 3 seasons. He only had one season where his record dropped properly below 1 in 2 for us, and he missed almost a third of that season with injury.
