  1. By far and away our man of the match last night. Won everything, first to everything. Superb performance.
  2. I said if we lost to Stoke last week that was it. Im sticking with it. I've given up, and I guess many more have after today.
  3. I've been busy and only just looked at the line up. Any reason why Gil hasn't started? How are we playing?
  4. Since his disgusting attitude at Everton away, he should never play for us again. He's an absolute tool.
  5. I know its a standard excuse in football when a new manager comes in etc... however on Saturday it actually looked like they weren't fit enough. Slow to recover, slow to break, slow to winning a second ball, lack of footwork to adjust body position.
  6. He does started by me at Norwich away! To, " 2 unlimited - no limits".
  7. Shouldn't play for us again this season, based on the contract situation.
  8. The WORST thing about that corner was that not only did it hit the first man, but it actually bounced before the first man.
  9. He didn't look fit today, maybe still suffering from the injury
  10. Never runs the channels, which is where he's most dangerous, nowhere near good enough to drop deep.
  11. The draw would have given some confidence. Absolutely lost it at the end. A "fan" was just constantly swearing and abusing players for about 3 minutes, so turned around and said you've made your point now shut the ... up. Can't see how that is going to help the manager or the players. Sherwood needs our full backing even when things aren't going right, theres now only 12 left! I do think we will get relegated after today, on the basis half of Stokes team were injured today and we didn't create too much. BUT everyone needs to stick together, especially for Sherwood. Next week is massive.
  12. Don't even bother changing it. Will be fine going straight through.
  13. I love paranoid Black Sabbath!! However, Craig Armstrong - Escape always sent chills down the spine !
  14. I've not based it on 15 mins though, I've seen a lot of the U21 squad and also watched a number of loan games It would be great if a few of our youngsters could make it through but in my opinion only Grealish at the moment is anywhere near. Gardner is doing ok with Forest as a defensive mid but isnt setting the world on fire. Robinson has skills but not the physique at the moment I said the same about Bannan and Delfonesco and I think that will be the way Robinson and Gardner end up. I hope they all make it but calls for them to be starting during our final run in to fend off relegation are ridiculous% Fair enough. I look at players like Ryan Mason though, who as sad as this sounds has been my favourite player in the Prem this season. He went on loan everywhere, and is now 23 I think. Even Clark, he's now 25? And matured as a player. No reason why a few of ours won't do the same.
  15. I forgot we only sign big, strong, physical players... oh wait. Young players get written off far too early in England. Especially when he's just had a 15 minute cameo in his first senior game in how many months... against a team 3rd in the Premier League with international centre backs. Brilliant.
  16. Fair enough. I was just suggesting him in preference to Shearer, mainly. That said, he might make a better fist of being someone's number two than a manger (I always got the impression he was quite sharp and thoughtful for a footballer; ruthless in a good way, and with a slight air of menace - some Celtic fans still refer to him as 'The Evil Genius'). The other thing is that with Sherwood as boss and Sutton as right-hand man, you've have a duo with a practical, working knowledge of the three principle outfield playing areas, at the top level - Sherwood being a very handy midfielder, and Sutton being a striker who started out at Norwich as a defender, and who could still effectively fill-in at the back if required to in an emergency, later on in his career. I think I'm being a little harsh due to how crap he was at Lincoln !! Spent a load of dosh that Lincoln have never really recovered from. He does seem thoughtful, and I like your logic in the three principles. However, he lacks inspiration and is very dull. This might reign Sherwood in a bit, but I'd rather someone like John Hartson... I know he doesn't know Sherwood as say Sutton, but he'd be a bit more inspiration than the bore of Sutton. BTW, I am not saying get John Hartson, just someone who has a better character !
  17. Westwood played well today. Did a hell of a lot of unnoticed work. His simple passes started our attacks. Works better as the one coming deep receiving the ball, and recycles clearances knocked back to him. Think he'll improve under Sherwood
  18. I'd rather go for Chris Sutton, if we're going down the route of Sherwood ex-team mates. I know he didn't much set the world alight as Lincoln's manager, but as a right-hand man I can see his personality complimenting and contrasting with Sherwood's to better effect than Shearer's would; plus he's got a Villa connection. What's he up to, these days? As a Villa fan, and Lincoln being my other team... Chris Sutton should be NOWHERE NEAR our coaching staff. Guy is a complete tool, and one hell of a bore.
  19. Genuinely would have Laursen. Sod all this experience rubbish. We need someone who is going to go in, inspire the players and play positive football. I reckon this man has the stuff. Lets not forget, he has been at top flight clubs like Milan and would have learnt a lot.
  20. Seriously... I don't care what has gone on before about him having his job safe. Surely, now, its untenable. Like, he really has to go? Surely?
  21. Poor. He's not a striker. Benteke should be wearing number 9. He declined the opportunity for his second season.
  22. No we don't. We need to centre it around our best defensive-midfielder and the man who completely bossed games playing there. No you don't, that's the difference between a DM and a playmaker! I like Sanchez... but where has he "bossed" a game. He's played well in games... bossed? Have a day off
  23. Agree with this. Expecting him and Hutton to provide crosses into the box is just stupid. We need our midfielders to provide width. not the full backs. You don't expect our full backs to provide crosses or provide width? Lets go home. Cresswell and Jenkinson Baines and Coleman Luis (when plays) and Ivanovic Even Alan Wright and Mark Delaney!! The above all provide crosses. Let alone providing width, look at Clichy for example, he rarely crosses but always provides width! Both with Cissoko and Hutton, they are too slow when we get the ball to get wide quickly. Like everything else on the pitch, it's just far too slow! Not primarily no. I'd expect our midfielders to provide width. Fullbacks can come and back the midfielders up and offer additional width with overlaps. But currently, our midfield plays so narrow the only width comes from full backs, and it isnt working. It can work both ways though. Again I'll refer to Everton. I know they arent having the best of seasons! However, what tended to happen was Barry would almost drop in to a back 3 when the full backs pushed on and given the license. Then the Everton wingers would come in field slightly leaving the space down the flanks for the full backs. The 2 problems are a) our full backs aren't there quick enough and b ) we don't really play with wingers!! Think we can all agree we need something on the wings! (Bit of a sad git when analysing). Aly started well, and has dropped off significantly in my opinion.
