yeah i'm one of them. i think he's rubbish as a 6 (which most i think agree with) but as an 8 i also think we have miles better at the club. i think sanson is better on the ball and is a better passer, mcginn has better tackling and work rate, and ramsey offers more of a goal threat. adding in kamara who can play as an 8 too, plus chuk, and maybe even another CM from the transfer market, i'd be more than happy to get 30m for him because he's way down in the pecking order for me. he might well do well at another club...but there have been loads of players that have left villa and become more successful i.e. veretout. doesn't change the fact that they were rubbish for us.

he does though. a number of times at the end of last season he was given opportunities off the bench...and looked quite lively too

there's no arguably about it. most of their first 11 would do well to make our bench. on paper we should absolutely murder them and it doesn't look like they're signing anyone anytime soon, plus they had like 6 players on loan

i do agree but normally days/weeks before theyre due to be announced. the media outlets will now have the lists so it's perfectly reasonable that fixtures will start to leak

watkins will never be a starter as long as kane is there, but definitely good for mings. he gets scapegoated by everyone it seems, not just villa fans. be amazed if he misses the next squad

there are some potentials, 100%. foden is pure class and when he retires i believe will be spoken about along with gerrard and lampard. declan rice is phenominal and the same probably applies. kane is one of the best strikers of our generation. the likes of trent and reece james are 2 of the best RBs i've seen. i'm probably forgetting a few too. we do have some big weaknesses though. aside from a few great RBs we are poor at the back. mings is the best CB we have IMO and i love the guy but when your best CB just finished 14th it means you have a problem. our GK department is average and we're not going to win games with kalvin phillips on the pitch. it's not quite the golden generation that sven had, but its the closest to it we've had since then
