  1. i think the talks are at a stalemate. "i want 60k a week for my client"..."he doesn't deserve that yet, the most we'll go to is 40k"..."we aren't signing"..."well he's not coming to Aus then" that's probably the gist of how the last 10 months have gone. if there was even a 10% chance of him staying, i reckon he'd have been on the plane
  2. absolutely fair point it's like at work, when someone hands in their notice because they've got a job elsewhere, they just piss about for those last 2 weeks and i've seen it first hand it drags the rest of the team down to their level it's absolutely not beyond the realms of possibility that he's giving it loads because he's "off to barca" and not putting in the hard yards in pre season
  3. the contract has been on the table since october, it's not like it was offered yesterday. 10 months to me is more than just 'holding fire' the club would've been in constant communication with carney and the agent as to why he hasn't signed he has been left home as a result of how those communications have gone....
  4. there's no contract on the table for luiz, that's the difference. last we heard was that the club are unsure if they are going to offer him one or not
  5. we aren't getting anything like that when someone can get him for c.£500k in a year
  6. this 100% i can't believe this is all him. honestly think this is all around his agent saying how he can get him a move to dortmund, barca etc. i actually would be surprised if there's any interest at all from those teams
  7. what a waste. going to aus with the rest of the team would've been a great opportunity for him but now he's stuck at home with the kids. 100% with SG on this one. carney could end up losing a year of his development if he doesn't end up signing for someone this summer as SG has made it clear he won't be around the first team
  8. chicken tikka balti pilau rice garlic naan i could go on but you said just 3 things
  9. i seem to recall from social media posts from fred that when digne was at everton him and guilbert socialised a fair bit including their families it must be so much better for fred now. no one to speak to in his first season as pretty sure he would've been the only french speaker and don't think he speaks much english. to now have at least 5 at the club inc bertie it will definitely make things easier for him
  10. i think with their early fixtures, not having arsenal players could prove to be a mistake. i think in those early 5/6 games jesus will definitely get goals. long term, not sure
  11. isnt that the risk full stop of owning highly owned players? if haaland blanks first couple of weeks and kane gets a few you could expect quite a few making the change which will knock his value down
  12. is that how it works though? does the tribunal assess based on how they've played, how much they've played etc? and in the grand scheme of things, are we talking a multi million increase by giving him a few games? i think if he makes it clear he's not signing we'll try and get rid in the summer anyway
  13. what would you have us do? offer him 60k a week? 80? 100?? personally think this is just his agent up to his old tricks but i hope we don't back down and have him on more money than JJ, for example, who has already proven himself at this level it is what it is at this point. the offer is on the table, i don't see us changing what's written on said offer now. he signs it or he doesn't
  14. improves kids' enjoyment of the game, gets them to go back, maybe to a WSL game next season, therefore helps the game to grow if these were at VP they would be atrocious, but they have a target market and need to do stuff like this
  15. the gulf between the top players and the mid-lower table players is vast. when you watch it at the top level the standard is better than people assume it to be
  16. is the main Irreverentad league going to be started up again this season or is it just the head to head one?
  17. according to ash preece (yeah, i know) he's taken up an ambassadorial role
  18. i do get that. i'm just always concerned that when a club loans out players in their late 20s it's usually because they want rid of them. same with us with trez, samatta and el ghazi i'm not denying that it's a sensible signing for relatively low risk. i guess i'm just annoyed that we missed out on hickey as that's the sort of player i thought we'd end up getting i'm not against ludwig, just underwhelmed
  19. I'd hoped for a young understudy to digne. It's a sensible signing, but an underwhelming one. I'm just wary of why sevilla want rid of him
  20. Underwhelming but surely better than young
  21. none of them learn though. they still do it, convincing themselves they will be the exception wonder if there will be a similar interview with kalvin philips in a few years
  22. came on to post the same. sounds like a match made in heaven. speaks like a true zulu
