  1. They were but they have always cheated the rules with the backing of the establishment. Most notably King Juan Carlos. A very dodgy character who helped them get away with all sorts of financial irregularities and was even known to celebrate in the dressing room with the players. They still benefit from this backing to this day, and, as representatives of the Spanish regime, always will.
  2. Whilst I agree about Newcastle and Man City, the planet which they are in "the same conversation" as Real Madrid is the one where Real are ALSO a stain on the game and have cheated football pretty much since their inception.
  3. And yet they are still 5 places above the relegation zone. That tells you everything. Suggestions of Leicester and Palace being involved are just nuts in my opinion. There's not a cat in hells chance either will go down. They both have quality and several match winners, despite their poor points haul to date. Same for Wolves and West Ham. You have to be so so so so bad to get relegated and can literally not win a game for months and still be out of danger. Still think Bournemouth and Southampton are the certs and then it's one from Everton or Leeds. Forest could get dragged in but again, they have a few match winners that will get them points.
  4. Is there anyone who still wants English clubs to do well in Europe? I know that was a thing in the 70s and 80s and maybe even early 90s, but I almost always want English clubs to get knocked out of Europe. The exceptions in recent(ish) history being Boro and Fulham, where I was simply ambivalent. Is that still a thing. Oh and FORZA MILANO!
  5. What I'd give to have a European night like that at VP. Been far too long.
  6. We have to hope that the gap between us and 12th doesn't completely disappear between now and when he comes back. We can still finish top of the bottom half, which would be progress.
  7. His injury will make that 10th place finish exceptionally difficult. Our best player by a country mile amd totally and utterly irreplaceable.
  8. Absolutely not. Scumbag of a person and wouldn't want him anywhere near my club.
  9. Who though? Chelsea? Brighton? Brentford who havent lost since Emery has been at Villa? Fulham maybe, which I why I think we may catch them, but the others are not going to switch off.
  10. Brentford in 9th are 4 points ahead of us with a game in hand. That's exactly the reason why a top 10 finish is going to be very difficult and Europe out of the question. We'd need Champions League form for the rest of the season to do that. We may catch Fulham tho. That's our best chance for 10th I'd say.
  11. Yeah I go to almost every away game when I'm in the country, but refuse to go there. Not been since being attacked from behind at the bus stop outside the Etihad, whilst I had my arms around a woman and a child. I asked the 2 middle aged Man City fans who were women btw, if they saw what just happened and their response was "shut the **** up or you'll all get one from us as well". After arriving back at Piccadilly, after a bus journey with a terrified 12 year old, we arrived to scenes of young teenage Villa fans covered in blood where they'd been attacked by middle aged men. Man City fans. For the record, Man City had won the game 2-0. I wouldn't go back to that hellhole if you paid me. Never.
  12. I'd love to know what this post is about but I haven't got a clue. Bridge?
  13. They really aren't. They are horrible bastards. Man City away is dodgy as hell and I've seen loads of trouble there over the years. On top of that, they have this delusion that they are the victims after cheating their way to success and ruining football. They are worse than their neighbours by a long shot and that takes some doing. Horrible, horrible club with horrible, horrible fans.
  14. I'm at Liverpool v Man United today as I run a football travel company, and I'm yet to hear a scouse accent in the pub. The amount of half and half scarves is unreal. Especially given the fixture.
  15. Looking forward to going to this, but worried about their reaction to yesterday's spanking. Kamara is our best player by a country mile and he will be badly missed. That said, this is a poor West Ham side and we've done well on the road under Emery so we have every reason to be confident. 1-2 Villa.
  16. Still not in the top half and looking at the fixtures, we probably STILL won't be even if we beat West Ham! Great to win back to back games with clean sheets though. An ugly win, but we owe them that for the game at Selhurst.
  17. They won't be in ANY trouble. Even if they did end up in the bottom 3, everyone above them would suddenly get points deductions to ensure they don't flush. 'Tis written in the stars.
  18. Newcastle are not going to be remotely in our orbit in the next few years. They are the richest club in the world and will spend like it. Whoever they sell, they will replace. They are on another level entirely now.
  19. You think Mother Theresa was good and that the nasty things she did was because of Villa Talk?
  20. So every clubs forums always predict their team to win? That's just not true at all. In fact, the reason I pointed it out was because it was against the norm, as someone who regularly trawls other fans forums to read their views from another perspective.
  21. It's funny how often people spell Forest with 2 R's. It wouldn't be in predictive text so you'd have to actively spell it that way and I think it's a throw back to Craig Forrest the goalkeeper. Can't think of any other reason. Not a dig at you, I see it often. Just musing as to why people do it. Not that it matters.
  22. That's just the way it goes. They got lucky. Which they seem to very often. But that's all it is.
