  1. I often dont get to watch games live because of time difference on work days so sometimes I have to google the result and **** me if every time I dont get 5 weeks of notifications of results for the team we played but never for us? I think my phone might have a learning disability. I'd blame it on big club bias but it happened most recently with Barrow of all clubs
  2. 1. Majora's Mask 2. Ocarina of Time 3. BOTW the math checks out, I'd also put Windwaker, Twilight Princess and Link to the Past ahead of TLOU. I cant really fathom not wanting to at least try Zelda games but to each their own.
  3. Fair, I am coming at it from the pretty unique angle of not wanting one of the most important things in my life to be owned by (and thereby my money go towards) a regime that would most likely execute me if I lived there though either way its not my club I'm talking about but I do feel for LGBTQI+ newcastle fans who actually have to deal with this as more than a thought experiment
  4. Eidolon - Arizona Cardinals I got to go to a couple of NFL games when I was living in the states, the first of which was an AZ stomping of Detroit and they didn't seem like the traditional bandwagon team so I jumped on board...its not been suuuuuper fruitful I won't lie but this team actually looks pretty OK with Kyler, Hopkins, Green, Jones, JJ Watt, Kirk et al ....DEM BIRBS!!
  5. I'd honestly rather be stuck in the Championship in perpetuity than have my club owned by The Saudis
  6. I went Xbox last gen with the Xbox One and couldn't have regretted the decision more until I finally got a PS4 a couple of months back, Xbox Game Pass is brilliant and hopefully Sony figure out something actually equivalent soon but that's pretty much the only strength the Series X has on a PS5 at this point for me....not that its as easy as just getting one of either at the moment, they still seem rarer than a decent Villa Signing from Belgium hopefully they become more available soon
  7. I've actually met Julia a couple of times (she's a pretty notable and active alumnus at Adelaide Uni where I went to school) and she's a lovely woman, definitely one of the most intelligent people I have met in person...once you can get past the Adelaide bogan drawl
  8. I had my first date with a cis girl since I came out last night All the pictures from the actual date have her in them and I dont want to be putting stuff up on the internet when I've only met her on a couple of occasions but I loved my outfit so y'all get a pre date shot of me looking very nervous
  9. Between being born in Birmingham, living in Wales for most of my childhood, then Adelaide Australia as a young adult with a few years over in NYC plus the changes from intentionally feminising my voice I'm yet to have anyone be able to place my voice anywhere with any degree of certainty as my speech is full of little quirks and idioms from all over the place I cant shake. Funnily my sister who is 3 years my younger sounded completely Australian after about a month but she's always been incredibly adaptable whilst I struggle with change...I wonder if that pre-disposes you to pick up an accent quicker.
  10. Seeing as Bont, Gawn and Oliver have been mentioned now I'll just casually mention Petracca so we have all the bookies favorites covered Macrae and Libba not without a chance either
  11. Yes! Definitely felt a tremor here and apparently one of the taller buildings in the city got evacuated Can't remember the last time an earthquake was big news here
  12. He's got to be one of the contenders for sure. I think Maxy Gawn looks in ominous form and he's probably my tip
  13. Congrats to Quadzilla on becoming Port Adelaide Football Club's very first Brownlow medalist (league best and fairest player) as the winner for the 2021 season. A well deserved winner as would have been any of he, Bont or Clayton Oliver Special mention to young Sam Walsh from the Carlton football club for polling so high who will surely win one or two of his own before all is said and done.
  14. The Mitsubishi Lettuce is a favourite
  15. Well by and large this thread is a lot less of a dumpster fire than these things can often be on the internet, well done guys Me personally, I don't get bent out of shape over terms like biological sex. Terms like A(M/F)AB (assigned male/female at birth respectively) are great short hand and are probably the easiest ways to avoid arguments though. As long as people extend common courtesy to me and understand that my birth name is legally not my name any more so I probably am not going to respond to it as they would any other person they might meet in their day to day who has changed it for whatever reason (like getting it off a vacuum cleaner) then that's good with me although I view that more as manners than a trans thing. I think some of 'us' can respond to the real dangers and crap we do get for being trans by going out of our way to be a bit precious over certain things which I don't think helps anyone at all. You aren't going to win any friends by yelling and branding people bigots at the drop of a hat for relatively minor shit on a topic that a lot of people don't have exposure to and I think we'd get a lot closer to where we want to be without doing that so much as you see. As far as bathrooms go I kind of err on the side of you should probably go with whichever bathroom you pass as, if the average person on the street would look at you and think 'that's a woman' use that one and if its the other way around then use a stall in the mens...why risk making people uncomfortable for something so minor? The whole toilet thing is such an overblown issue though and I think can sometimes get in the way of actual problems like access to employment, health care and consistently being taken seriously by law enforcement in cases of violence against us. FWIW on the topic of how early a kid should be able to start transitioning my take is more on the side that kids shouldn't be prescribed anything more than puberty blockers until they are at least 16. Most kids by and large don't know what they want and its strikes a good balance of not leaving them in a position where changes might happen that are hard to counteract medically (breast growth, hair, facial bone structure etc) if you do decide that transitioning is necessary when you are more equipped to make an informed decision on your long term future. This would still allow you to pretty much kickstart puberty again without having done anything but delayed those physical changes by just coming off the blockers and a short course of your body's naturally occurring hormones if you decide that maybe you weren't as set on it as you thought. The topic of trans regret is a relatively uncommon occurrence as it is, it does happen but it's always very much the minority response in surveys of trans people of either persuasion with the vast majority of us responding that transitioning has been pretty much life saving and a lot more self harm and suicides coming from either a sense that you might have missed the boat to get the transition you want (this is becoming more of a problem though with kids getting frankly unrealistic transition goals from social media and stuff like that) and other factors trans people ( trans women in particular) are at increased risk of i.e addiction, sexual violence and exploitation, abuse, bullying and garden variety depression. For me personally I first thought I was going to transition at 12 and that never wavered and now I couldn't be happier but I have friends who realised maybe they just didn't enjoy what society expects of a masculine or feminine person and HRT would have definitely not been right for them. A good friend of mine is a ballet dancer and made the good point that her dance training did more to impact how her body actually grew in regards to bone structure, musculature and joints than puberty blockers do and I doubt you are going to see dance studios in court any time soon for warping kids bodies for life. EDIT: Edited to clean up my sleepy spelling and grammar mistakes from this morning and make my ideas more coherent. Thanks for all the nice feedback guys :3
  16. I got the news today that I don't have Huntington's disease which is.....very very very much something to be cheerful about
  17. This feels more like Burt Reynolds dying than when Burt Reynolds actually died
  18. Pineapple on Pizza is for me a lot like mid 00's emo music, once I stopped being too pretentious to admit I liked it I started having a lot more fun
  19. even as a Port fan you have to love McLeod (He was a magpie first :P) every Port fan knows Luke Shuey and none of us have anything nice to say after THAT goal in finals. I immigrated too late to play footy, I played soccer until transitioning and anorexia destroyed my athletic ability but I have a few friends who made/almost made it. The most notable being Sam Colquhoun (played for Port for a couple of years and then Sturt as your typical too good for the SANFL not good enough for the AFL mid)
  20. I've been doing a lot better with a formerly pretty bad drinking problem up to tonight, went to the doctors with a few odd things going on expecting to get told I'm stressed and maybe CFS at the worst only to get a very worried looking doctor and a blood test done to screen for Huntington's (my grandfather had it) I'm sure the likely outcome is probably less severe but I'm a bit disappointed in myself to be a bottle and a half of red down this evening...I've been scared of this particular skeleton in my family closet for a while
  21. Very much this, for big crowds you want your Colligwoods, your Richmonds etc. For me though as far as atmosphere you cant beat a good Showdown (The Adelaide vs Port Adelaide derby) with the Vic rivalries being so watered down because there are so many teams from such a small area and Fremantle never having really threatened West Coast in their history its the only real rivalry of the modern game with the kind of heat in it that would be familiar to an English football fan. The unique and complicated history of the formation of The Adelaide Crows and how that relates to Port make it one of the more interesting rivalries in world sport when you get into the details.
