Welp it's a Melbourne vs Western Bulldogs grand final after Port Adelaide and Geelong both didn't show up in any sense in the prelims. Football this weekend has been a load of arse in every sense

Not an actor as such but this is the one I think of immediately, a lot of people know that Hot Fuzz's Nicholas Angel's ex Janine is Cate Blanchett under the hazmat suit but it took me at least until years later to learn that the Father Christmas who stabs Nicholas through the hand is LOTR Director Peter Jackson.

Finally got around to Once Upon a Time in Hollywood last night as it was on free to air TV. As someone a bit young to have much grounding in the Manson Family murders it was nice to not feel like I didn't have a good grip on what was going on and the scene at the ranch really sold the creepy murder hippies vibe very well. Leo and Brad Pitt were pretty exceptional as you'd probably expect at this point in their careers and it had a satisfyingly bonkers Tarantino ending with the usual crisp dialogue all the way through....even if as always there was as always way too much of Tarantino's foot fetish bleeding through in a lot of scenes (I have a weird thing about extremities like hands and feet and seeing dirty bare feet smooshed up against a windscreen for a solid 5 minute scene was enough to knock a point off in of itself ) 8/10

Some great footy over the weekend, the Dogs and Lions game was an absolute classic. Having said that I'm pretty confident that The Dogs are going to be pretty sore pulling up after a contest like that and might flag in the last quarter if things are tight. Port vs Dees Grand Final is my tip, still not sure it will be in Perth though honestly, I feel like McGowan isnt going to be fussy about slamming shut the border if any cases pop up, could be some late twists in the tail.

Not worried, I imagine once the deal went through a lot of clubs jacked up their asking prices so to speak and it's a bit of a staring contest as to who will blink as the end of the window draws closer. We know from Ings that deals can just happen with very little in the way of rumor before hand. Wouldn't be surprised to see one or two more.

I don't agree on a few of those assessments but a lot of that is pretty subjective. Can you really count Heaton though? It felt like a pretty forgone conclusion we had effectively seen the last of him.

Gets far too much stick for me @Jas10 put it way better above but for me he's a player who has always put in whilst wearing the shirt and been more than a successful acquisition, but going forward it's a concern if we see too much of him at the start of games. I think with his record he starts until Bailey has the fitness and form to displace him and that's well deserved but honestly I hope it comes relatively soon.

For all the Hades buffs in this topic I am reeeeeally having a hard time with Theseus and Asterius, any builds and boons you guys have found effective against them?

AFL is making some fair inroads in the northern states as well. It will never oust league as the number one up there but with Brisbane, Sydney, The Gold Coast and GWS all having teams it probably has a bit more of a foothold that NRL does in the south excluding the pretty strong presence of the Melbourne rugby team (The Storm) In Adelaide and Perth there is literally 0 NRL presence except for the occasional State of Origin (a concept the AFL really should bring back) match being hosted hosted here since we redeveloped the Oval Surprising there aren't more QLD fans honestly, Brisbane were the dominant team of the early 00's and have looked pretty damn good for a few years now (my tip for the flag this year)

Not really, every team pretty much structures up with the same number of players in ostensibly the same positions. You get subtle variations like how many of the forwards are big tall types or little speedy guys and how many ruckman a team might use but you don't get anything like 4-4-2 vs 4-3-3 or anything.

What an awful game that was, the worst I have seen us play on the year and I hope we can give you a bit of payback tonight. Got my ticket ready to go now the SA Gov upped the capacity Must admit I'm still scratching my head about what we are going to do about Hawkins AND Cameron.
