  2. I had to come back from Seattle because the company sponsoring my visa went bust but hey, Melbourne’s a nice town too and at least I got my deviated septum fixed when I was over there can’t even tell it was wonky now

You are flat out wrong I'm sorry. I'm not asking this as a gotcha but as a sincere question, do you actually know any trans people in your life? Beyond having been an out transwoman for over a decade the vast majority of my social circles are naturally trans people and I have never met anyone who expressed anything but a desire that they had been able to transition earlier and not go through the disastrous effects of the wrong puberty. The phenomenon of De-transitioners are a vanishingly small number of people who transition and the vastly overwhelming majority of them de-transition or experience regret due entirely to societal issues outside of our control (institutionalized violence, work/housing discrimination, familial ostracisation, social stigma and constantly having to defend our rapidly diminishing access to health care and right to even exist) most respondents stress that in an equal world they would continue their transition. FWIW I have known who I was since I was 7 and it hasn't wavered for a day. I attempted suicide multiple times before transitioning and haven't ONCE since getting my first round of HRT despite the fact that my life is materially probably in a much less stable position due to unrelated factors. Every serious study done on Gender Affirming care shows it is not only the best way to manage Gender Dysphoria but that alternatives amount to having the same disastrous outcomes as conversion therapy. Why is a kid who is sure they are cis at 11 valid and encouraged to play physically punishing sport, go to the gym, learn to box whatever they want in pursuit of those ideals (stuff that can do way worse damage to your body at a young age than blockers which have been shown to be completely benign with no long term effects in the vast majority of cases) valid in making those decisions but an 11yr old who is sure they are trans 'not capable of making that decision? Surely by that logic we should just label every child as agender until they are an adult and then they can decide for themselves? You can stop taking blockers, you can't undo puberty. Trust me as someone who has actually BEEN THROUGH the very process you are describing that is SO not how it works. getting HRT especially in your country requires numerous visits to mostly hostile GPs, therapists and other people who at any point can and do knock you back to square one and thats without even touching on the YEARS long wait lists to even get that first appointment. Doctors are not waving puberty blockers are kids that dont specifically request them, it just doesn't happen outside of the unsubstantiated anecdotal evidence springing from places like Mumsnet and other GC circles with a vested interest.
  4. Then why not stop whinging about it?
  5. So legally stumping a batsman who wandered out of his crease with the ball in play is cheating and against the spirit of cricket but using mints to alter the condition of the ball illegally for years (as your own players have copped to) is hard but fair? sure thing
  6. I thought we were done with Whataboutery? fwiw the players involved in sandpaper gate were disciplined incredibly harshly (well above and beyond ICC requirements) by our own cricket board and served their time. Something that hasn’t really been seen any other time a team has been caught out ball tampering *cough* 2005 *cough* These are professional sportsmen who’s livelihoods depend on winning games of cricket. If you don’t think everyone on that oval would do anything they could to get an edge (once again WITHIN the legal limits of the game) then I have a bridge in Sydney to sell you. it’s sore loser-ism plain and simple
  7. That's incredibly easy to say from where he's sitting isnt it?
  8. I honestly think this whole thing is incredibly silly and any English supporter who doesn't think Bairstow or any other English player wouldn't do the exact same thing given the opportunity is being incredibly naive. Was it sneaky? yes, does whining about it ad nauseam reflect badly on English cricket as a whole? also yes. curious to see what happens next game without Lyon, honestly as important to Australia's set up as any other player you could name and his absence could be a big difference maker
  9. They are all 100% dead, you have to hope something blew and it was quick…I can’t imagine many worse ways to go otherwise. It’s never nice when anything like this happens to anyone who wasn’t technically hurting anybody but the absolute farcical stupidity of every step of how they ended up down there is a sight to behold honestly. I don’t think you can say they deserved it but you can argue they earned it.
  10. BIIIIIIG fans of Emi in the Seattle Department of Local Services it seems
  11. Very excited to see Travis Head in particularly good form going into what should be a great Ashes (Iost very graciously at pool to him a few times at the Exchange in Gawler years and years ago ) it’s going be a very different vibe to the last series I’m sure…I must admit I haven’t watched much of England since you started shamelessly copying Travball and I’m excited to see your take should be a good time, who’d be a bowler hey?
  12. Watching the Kraken OT win over Dallas last night was great fun, can’t believe I didn’t get into the sport sooner GRUUUUUUUUU (had to )
  13. Anyone who could even thinking about defending guns in this instance has surely lost all grasp on humanity
  14. I think that would be a bit easier to stomach if Roman wasn’t such a part time champ and looking at wrestling even less. You can’t sustain 2 shows (one being 3 hours long) every week without the main belt ever being contested. I honestly don’t know why you wouldn’t just have him drop one belt to Cody at mania and then redesign that one though regardless I hope they put the new big gold on Seth, he’s too good to be dicking around with the Logan Paul’s of the world (as frustratingly talented as Paul undeniably is)
  15. Honestly very surprised, I know the PNW is about as socially left a place as you can really go in America but I’ve never felt more welcome as trans woman anywhere in the world than I have here so far…don’t think I’ll be taking too many trips south though
  16. Moved to the Pacific Northwest recently and weirdly the potential unseen presence of mountain lions has been on my mind when I’ve been out and about you only see them when they want you to
  17. I moved to Seattle not a massive fan of the dodgiest team name in pro-sports (IYKYK) but my first Sounders game the other week was a lot of fun 3-0 over St Louis (who had a completely anonymous Indiana Vasilev playing for them curiously)
