  1. Needs to play at a higher level than the SPL. 4 games against Celtic and 6 European games a season will probably be the only challenging games for him. Much rather him go to one of the Championship teams
  2. £17m total isn't a bad deal for Matt Targett. He's a decent played but quite limited. We've essentially paid £8m to upgrade him to Lucas Digne
  3. New Newcastle shirt has been released. Looks like their badge has been embroidered onto the shirt
  4. I wonder if he is a natural LCB or just plays there due to Kounde preferring the RCB spot? Personally think Konsa was on his way out before picking up the injury. Don't think SG has been all that impressed by him this season. Would be a bit gutted to see Mings go. Good player, good captain and an overall good guy.
  5. Thanks for the post. Is he a 'ball playing' defender or more of a 'no-nonsense' defender?
  6. I think he was played to combat Burnley's physicalness. Wouldn't be surprised to see Nakamba come into the side tonight as Liverpool are much more mobile than Burnley and we'll need someone who can get about the pitch quicker
  7. From memory, I was nearly always impressed in his appearances for Villa. Hold up play and link up play were always good. Just lacked goals. Judging from this loan move .. he might just be adding that part to his game. I'd like to see him get a pre-season here and really kick on but something tells me SG has made up his mind and wants his own forward and will sell Davis (and probably Ings) to raise some funds to get one. I agree with others in saying that it would be a decision that we could come to regret.
  8. *Heads straight down to bookies with life savings to lump on a Brighton win*

    Louie Barry

If I remember correctly, Liverpool did that or tried to do that with that Ben Woodburn lad
  10. Was tempted to say a striker but think it depends on the performance of Ings/Watkins from now until the end of the season. Think young Archer might even force his way into their plans if e keeps lighting the place up.
  11. I think we wouldn't have been caught out on the break by Watford. I might even go as far as to say his positioning play would have meant that Chambers wouldn't have had to make that tackle against Newcastle that lead to the goal. But this is all in hindsight
  12. I think signing a DM will have a domino effect and improve the overall midfield personally. Midfield did well with Nakamba in there so no reason to think they cant get back to that level
  13. Can see a max of 3 players coming in this summer. 1. DM. 2. RB - I don't think Gerrard is convinced by Cash and will look to replace him and if that is the case, hopefully Atletico are still interested in him and we can make a good profit on him. 3. CB - The way he has to urge Konsa and Mings to come out with the ball makes me think Gerrard wants more of a ball playing defender that is willing to carry ball out of defence.
  14. Surely it has to be the final nail in the coffin or the Ings/Watkins front two combo
  15. Yeah and Luiz had some good games in his more natural position. On another note, is there a specific tactical reason for having a left-footed McGinn on the right of the midfield and right-footed Ramsey on the left? Always seems strange to me
  16. Think we'll see Chambers as DM in the next game with Luiz replacing McGinn.
  17. Nice post. The part about the players adapting well at the start for me is down to Nakamba. I feel that the CDM position is crucial to his tactic and Luiz just can't do it. I think if he went with a different option there (a more defensively minded player like Chambers for example) we might see the performances/results improve. Gerrard showed a bit of naivety at the weekend. He said in the presser that Hodgson was experienced and he knew him well. Surely he knew that he would dig in for 70 odd mins, wait for us to make changes to go and try to win the game and look to pick us off. His plan worked perfectly. .. But on the other hand, Gerrard had to make changes to try and win the game and ultimately, he made the wrong changes for me. Young to Cash was poor. Bailey looked too short of match fitness to bring on and chase a game. I think we'll get there eventually. I'll give him a pre-season and a transfer window but if things arn't looking better by Christmas, he could (and should) be in trouble
  18. Congratulations on 500 pages Dougie!
  19. Wouldn't mind seeing Chambers in front of the back 4 but Dennis' pace up against Mings/Hause might stop Gerrard from doing this
  20. Firmly believe there is something going on behind the scenes with Ollie. Personal issue of some sort. New baby problems maybe? Wouldn't be at all surprised if he's been asked if he wants to step away for a couple of weeks but has said he can try and play through it. Was very telling to hear McGinn almost plead with him on Sunday to do more

Thanks for the reply. Might be best to stick with the 'do nothing' option that has been offered and re-access in October

So if I opt for the fixed term above, I wont end up paying the new, higher standing charge?

Currently on a 2yr fixed term with Octopus Energy which ends next month. From what I have read, its really not a good time to be looking at switching. Have been offered the following 12m fixed term. Any 'experts' in here that think its a reasonable deal? Electric 15.27p p/KwH - New 33.51p p/KwH 24.49p p/day - New 24.03p p/day Gas 2.77p p/KwH - New 8.81p p/KwH 25.04p p/day - New 26.10p p/day I personally think it might be the best I can get and given the uncertainty, might be wise to take this for the 12 month period?
