  1. Anyone got an insight on the new 'anchoring' system the PL is trying to bring in? Seems like an agreement in principle have been reached by the majority of clubs to bring it in from 25/26 - interestingly Aston Villa, Man City and Man Utd voted against it, whilst Chelsea abstained. The way I understand it, the spending money is tied to the smallest TV income from a Prem club i.e. say Luton made £100m from TV, the 'cap' would be 5 times that - £500m to be spent on transfers and wages? does this mean amortisation is going to be a thing of the past?
  2. We'll have an embarrassment of riches when everyone if fit for those two attacking roles.. Ramsey, Rogers, McGinn, Bailey, Diaby, Buendia and possibly Zaniolo.
  3. I'd do the same but still decline.. and insist that my house is built into the stand offering me a front row seat to the game
  4. Can Ferdi cover the CM position should Luiz and/or Kamara be unavailable?
  5. Yeah I agree that would be the moral way of doing things. Personally, i'd be all for knocking down houses in and around Villa park in order to redevelop it or rebuild it (a la Spurs) with the intention of building the previous residents new houses/apartments on a new site purchased by the club (ideally close by to their previous residence). I'd also love the club to take over the rebuild of the Witton station - given the new investors seem to be global experts in that area
  6. IF we do move, I wonder if Villa Park would be renovated into apartments etc. like Highbury was.
  7. Man Utd and Newcastle still to play each other. A draw in that game would surely secure us at the very least 5th. The Spurs run-in is brutal. Beat Bournemouth on the 21st and Chelsea on the 27th and we could be 9 points clear of them before they host Arsenal on the 28th. COULD YOU IMAGINE!
  8. Diego Carlos at his best yesterday. Outstanding performance.
  9. Decided to play the Wildcard this week. Will FH next week (GW34) and BB in GW 37. Had the team set and now Foden got himself injured so I think he might be rested against Luton which throws my plans into a bit of turmoil... Currently have Garnacho, Foden and Haaland but now thinking of going Fernandes, KDB and Alvarez but I am terrified of not owning Haaland as he can just go off in a heartbeat.
  10. Absolute joke if that goes through. Fines will be pocket change to all the rich owners and will be abused. Already happening in NBA and MLB which makes the big teams separate from the rest.
  11. Thought he was just adjusting to his new position as left back.. on the bus
  12. Good to see this. Hopefully reduce the traffic chaos outside the ground on matchdays
  13. Didn't we do a bit of that against Ajax? Emery mentioned that he had Bailey and Diaby out wide and running at full backs rather than cutting in. Seemed to work well given that we won comfortably. Regarding Ramsey, best thing is to manage him until end of season and then get him a proper rest period to get back to full fitness for the Champs League crusade.
  14. That would be epic! Would be like Croke Park with Hill 16.
  15. I'd say so. This looks simple.. and can't be mistaken for burger King
  16. Brentford have been mostly terrible this season. I could see Ushited getting a win there but hopefully Brentford take something off them. I'd like to think we will beat Wolves, Hee Chan and Neto both out and Cunha (hopefully) not fully fit.
  17. Do the club have staff outside the turnstiles? Kind of like if you go to a gig, there will be a handful of staff members telling you to get your tickets/bags etc. ready for inspection. I always find that acts as a bit of a reminder to people to get themselves ready. It also helps people who are confused as they can ask for help away from the turnstile itself.
  18. I think a claret and blue Ajax home shirt would be great. Would also be a homage to the euro Cup winning shirt
  19. Probably doesn't help that today's football boots are getting lighter and, I presume, made of less protective materials
  20. Not in the slightest, i've been a fan of his all season. Merely commenting that this is the some of time that can move a player up a gear.
  21. And add in the fact that we have been unable to have the sponsor on the shirt for a few of the European games. A change would make sense all around. Could even ask any potential new sponsor to supplement the termination cost of BK8 is one is needed
  22. I'd guess Villa 13 points from those fixtures, Spurs 16th points and United 15 points. We end the season in 5th (and qualifying for Champs League) and as Europa Conference League Winners. Thank you very much. Same again next year.. except a different trophy obviously.
  23. I get the history of Villa Park and it being the classic ground that everyone looks going too but could you imagine having a Bernabeu-esqe stadium in the heart of Birmingham hosting NFL, concerts etc etc. It would put Villa properly on the world map.. and even Birmingham. Wembley of the Midlands vibes and all that. Would put our revenue up there with the Sky 6 which, lets face it, is becoming the most inportnat thing in football. An added bonus would also be that more and more people will be exposed to Villa and the fan base will go through the retractable roof - meaning that it will speed up the extinction of Small Heath
