Souness has got a serious case of little d*ck syndrome

Read a piece about Villa's out of possession Defending against Everton at the weekend and how Coutinho did a good job of occupying certain positions. Must say this went unnoticed from me as I'm just looking at his attacking output. Still think Buendia is a better option going forward but it's nice to have two quality players to rotate

Wonder who the loan options are. Shame Coady didn't hold off another week. He might have been a decent option on loan, especially with his love of a diagonal ball

Seems like that extention he signed in January was either an automatic renewal or to help with FFP amortisation

Same injury as Gabby. He reckons February return if its top rehab - https://twitter.com/ga11agbon/status/1559134030997725184?t=jmzcp5nPm2USScN57Frk3A&s=19

Could use this as an opportunity to upgrade the CB position. Try and sell Hause and Konsa and generate about £20m between them and go and sign a top class defender. Then when Carlos is back you'll have him, Mings, Chambers and the potential new signing to choose from.

If Mings is starting ahead of Konsa based on Konsa's poor performance last week then hopefully we'll see Beundia in for Coutinho also

Sky Sports reporting that Forest are paying £12.5m + £7.5m in add-ons for Dennis

Villa twitter say its a loan.. but his instragram says otherwise. Must have an obligation to buy in there somewhere https://twitter.com/AVFCOfficial/status/1558377942950072326?t=rRNYJhKMhA_iY38j4eiV3A&s=19

Looks like Davis is going to be Emmanuel Dennis's replacement at Watford. Read that he's about to join Forest

Good move for both sides. I hoped Davis would push on at Villa but seeing him at a top 6 Championship side is good. Hopefully he does well enough to get a permanent move
-
Surely any loan deal for him this time to a Championship club would have an obligation to buy option included if they are promoted.

Very interested to see his demeanour and listen to his chat during the pre-match press conference
-
And full of classic Arnie one liners!
-
I hope that he has said that he will only sign the contract at 23:01pm on the 1st September 2022 in the knowledge that Tyrone Mings hasn't left the club. I reckon he's also been promised that he will be played in the #8 position and only used as a #6 in emergencies.
-
Imagine it'll be an initial loan as can't see the club getting £10m odd to cover the FFP cost
-
I agree and no doubt the people in the boardroom will be looking at Newcastle and wondering why they are above us in the league

Early prediction... 40 floated cross attempts, 1 successful. Post match chat from SG "We didn't cross well enough"

Watched this on Sunday. Wasn't blown away by it but was decent enough. The cat is the best thing about it imo!

This is what baffled me. If you are insistent on width and getting crosses into the box, then surely they need to be low balls for Ings/Watkins or the other forwards coming into the box. The only only way we would of had any success with the high crosses was that maybe the forwards could get to the second ball but even that was a stretch.

I think it's the combination of the bad loss, change of captaincy and the mistreatment of Mings (and maybe Traore/Guilbert/El Ghazi to a lesser extent) that has opened this thread. The loss/performance alone was bad but many probably would have gave him the benefit of the doubt to turn it around but the other things have got people on edge as these are the sorts of thing that can result in losing the dressing room and once that happened, its hard to come back from.
-
I think we'll see Chambers in for Konsa defensively. Interested to see the changes he makes in attack, hoping our home tactics are different to our away tactics and we play a more attacking game. Can't help but think that it will be the 4-3-1-2 with Ings and Watkins up top.
-
It wouldn't surprise me. I think Mings is a big big figure in that dressing room. Players probably would have been annoyed by stripping him of captaincy, but dropping him AND those comments after the game... might have pushed a lot over the edge. Next couple of games will tell us alot.
