  1. They really don't know when they've got something good. Selling him was a crazy mistake for them to make.
  2. Hit the nail on the head right there. They hate us because they know we're top dogs.
  3. Why would you do that? Do you want us to lose?? Take him out!
  4. I can't think of a better place for him to go than Brentford, honestly. You'd bring out the best in him, I have no doubt. I also maintain that there's a lot of good to be brought out.
  5. It's a shame he never reached his full capabilities with us, but I never felt like he didn't care or anything. Watching this proves he clearly did. He seems like a genuinely nice guy, too. It's nice to hear his reasons for cutting his loan short too. It was never really explained, and it did turn out to be the right thing for both parties.
  6. In a way, I'd say Everton are sort of our rivals too, only in a much more amicable way. They're the team we're most often likened to, it's the most contested fixture in all of English football, the banter with their fans is generally good, and we're in roughly the same situation as clubs right now. It's not a rivalry in the traditional sense as I have a real soft spot for them, but it's one I enjoy more than most. ETA: In my experience, their fans seemed genuinely sad to see us relegated and pleased to see us come back. I think they see the competition between us too.
  7. https://dcfcfans.uk/topic/36328-11-points/page/6/#comments Derby fans are watching this situation unfold with bated breath, hoping, praying that this is finally the year where it happens.
  8. He looks utterly shot of confidence in front of goal. He did a lot of good work today, but the decision making and end product was severely lacking. I always feel like he has it in him to do well. I'm willing him to succeed at this point.
  9. He never stood a chance as a fox in the box in this game with the lack of service. Any centre forward starved of service will struggle to have in impact.
  10. We didn't play badly at all, but it's clear how much we miss some of the first team when they're out. Some bad luck, some lack of quality in front of goal. It was about time we had a draw anyway.
  11. Agreed. The disrespect he got from Arsenal fans when he was their most consistent striker, and arguably their best, for years was criminal. He should be starting every week, no question.
  12. In terms of competitiveness, Wolves are currently our biggest rivals imo. We're both challenging for the honour of being the best club in the West Midlands at the moment, and that's what a regional rivalry is about to me. West Brom would be next, by virtue of the the fact they're in the PL. I can't see that one lasting though. I just can't bring myself to care about the likes of Leeds and Newcastle. They can do well or fall into obscurity, I couldn't care less. Blues are enemies, not rivals. Rivalries imply competitiveness.
  13. It's personalities more than anything, I think. People who get worked up over trivial things can be incredibly entertaining. Nobody (or rather, few people) really cares about their opinions.
  14. True. It was probably detrimental to them if anything.
  15. I think this is the major point being made by your post. We defend him because no player deserves to recieved outright abuse. We defend him because right now, he's one of ours and should receive our backing to do well. Nobody is saying he's above criticism and his performances shouldn't be scrutinized, nor is anybody saying he's infallible and irreplaceable. We're just saying he deserves respect. That's it.
  16. It didn't help Arsenal very much though, did it?
  17. The major ones are New Cross in Wolverhampton, Manor in Walsall and Russell's Hall in Dudley. As far as I know they're all general hospitals.
  18. I'd be mad too, but part of being a professional is learning to not react to things like that. He should know better.
  19. I'd argue both are bad things for a fan to say to a player completely out of the blue. It's like when an angry customer calls up the complaints department and screams abuse at the poor sod who's job is to answer the phone, and who had nothing to do with whatever they're angry about. I get the analogy is a bit loose, but you get the idea. That sort of unwarranted direct criticism that was never asked for is bang out of order. People who do it seem unhinged.
  20. It's mad that we're even talking about the possibility of them being relegated, and it's not even in jest. It's extra funny considering just a few weeks ago they were part of the Big 6 talking about splitting into a European Super League. Now we have to point out, in total seriousness, that "they'll have enough to survive" a relegation scrap. How the mighty have fallen.
  21. Leicester, Wolves and Burnley should be ashamed they only managed to win by one goal. Wolves should be especially ashamed that they actually managed to concede one.
  22. Oh man, I can't wait to watch Arsenal Fan TV in the morning.
