  1. Nobody's ever explicitly denied it, which you'd think they would've of there wasn't one. One thing I'm not clear on is whether the clause was agreed with City or Luiz. Exactly how much of a say does he have in it?
  2. If he makes it into the first team, he will be affectionately known as Phil. I'm calling it now.
  3. I saw a video where a second tier professional Turkish side took on a 22 man Sunday league team and slapped them comfortably. I imagine it would go a little like that.
  4. I took it to mean that he's not clued up on the finer details of the clause, i.e. how City can trigger it or whether Luiz himself would have any say in the matter.
  5. Loyalty seems to be so rare in the game these days, so respect to him. He could've easily turned his back on them for money, but he didn't.
  6. Every time I think another set of fans had a reason to talk about us, I like to see what they have to say. For most clubs it's only when we've got a match against them, but for the other west midland sides it seems to be near constant, especially SHA. I browse their forums semi-regularly just because there's usually some form of Villa related discussion going on, and it's often fascinating. To anyone from SHA reading this, hi! I know you do it too!
  7. It was a friendly. I'm pretty sure they have no effect on seedings.
  8. This is why I don't like to label forward players as strikers. It puts so much emphasis on scoring goals, whereas in a functional team you need them to do so much more. Look at Watkins. He scored goals, sure, but that's not all he does. A game in which he doesn't score is not necessarily a bad game for him if he can cause trouble and help create chances for other players. Wesley is much the same; even when he wasn't scoring, he was contributing. With time he would get better, with better players around him it would get easier, and if not for his injury he'd probably be there by now.
  9. They knew they had the squad to bounce back, and it was simply a case of someone finding out the weakness in their system. They knew they had it in them to recover. It was different for us. We didn't have that luxury at all. It really felt like it was something that was going to happen a lot.
  10. Probably. It's the biggest win in their history. In fairness, their women's team has always been better than ours. That's on us for never really investing in it until recently.
  11. He's been one of my favourite players for ages now. He's far from perfect but he always pops up and delivers when it matters most. His attitude is an example of what every player should act like and he was integral in the turnaround of this club's fortunes. I'm sad for him, but who do you drop at the moment? It's really difficult.
  12. I think the most important factor is that we have absolutely no reason or need to sell him. Provided we continue to look competitive, he'll have no reason to want to leave either. I don't care what nonsense value other clubs put on him; to us he is priceless, and that is all that matters.
  13. It actually amazes me that they were Premier League so recently.
  14. I've always wondered, how does someone become a Baggies fan? Even if you live right next to the ground, how do you end up looking at them and thinking, "yes, I can definitely get on board with that"?
  15. Just read that this game was the first time ever Aubameyang has played a full 90 minutes without even registering a shot.
  16. I'm glad for him, he's a quality player. He's got a great future ahead of him. Anyway, what's to be bitter about? He's not their player anymore. It doesn't matter at all who he's a fan of.
  17. Would be nice if they'd go join their good friend Sheffield.
  18. His crime is being a Villa fan. That's literally it.
  19. There's always lessons to be learned, even for the best managers going. It's no major criticism.
  20. We'll at least get to see if he's learned any lessons from the last two games.
  21. How many of those kids do you think will grow up thinking that was actually Trump? And if they were to see footage of the actual Trump, would they even realise that wasn't him?
  22. I think it was the right thing to do. He was spreading falsehoods with the sole intention of stirring up his fanbase. They're already causing trouble because of this "voter fraud" nonsense he's spewing. Police in Philadelphia even uncovered a plan to attack a building where ballots are being counted. It's several years too late, but they're finally showing that they're not going to put up with his bullshit anymore.
  23. Remember when he was the media's "Golden Boy" who never put a foot wrong? I bet he misses those days.
