  1. It's mad how fast things turn around. This really hasn't aged well, had it?
  2. I think we were all a little apprehensive about the fee compared to how many top flight games he'd played. Form is temporary, class is permanent etc. The question was whether we were buying a player who was grabbing his one chance with both hands hoping to put himself in the shop window, or a genuine class act who would keep it up going forward. Thankfully, it turned out to be the latter.
  3. Say what you want about him as a player; he isn't perfect, there are better defenders, whatever. But there's no arguing he's a true leader. He looks out for the other players in the team and is never afraid of saying what needs to be said. He definitely has an overall positive effect on the entire squad in terms of morale and performances, and that makes him almost as invaluable as Jack right now. Will we have better defenders in the future? Surely. But can we be as sure they'll have the same personality? Both are just as important.
  4. That's it. I knew St. Mirren came into it somewhere. Get them in at the Villa, see if they can't make it 3
  5. He is. They're brothers. He's got another brother called Stephen I think, I'm sure he plays for St Mirren.
  6. Arsenal fans. Arsenal fans are complaining.

    Ezri Konsa

Fully agree. I consider him to be our best defender, and if Mings is starting for England then Konsa is capable too. I might have my claret and blue specs on, but I see him becoming England's best defender in just a few year's time.

    Wolves

Maybe it won't ever come out of the game altogether, but if it's being discouraged at youth level then players will grow up generally avoiding it. There will be considerably less aerial specialists in the future, that much I'm sure of.
  9. Two games in hand. One against Man City, one against Newcastle. I think we can comfortably expect at least 4 points from those.
  10. If Trez is going to be out for any significant amount of time, I'd be all for Anwar starting over Traore. I think he deserves a chance to prove he's still got something to offer.
  11. For a first PL start, he did ok. Not bad, not brilliant. He can build on that.
  12. It's nice to win ugly every once in a while. We're still yet to draw a match this season. Pleased for Anwar. I always want to see him do well.
  13. World class today. Thank Christ for Emi.
  14. Apparently he's out due to a laceration to the head. I'm guessing it was when he headbutted that lads studs against West Ham.
  15. I've been a Villa fan for almost 10 years now, and I've only just learned that they aren't fond of us. What's it all about anyway?
  16. If he keeps doing well for St Mirren, a championship club might take a chance on him. I hope they do.
  17. They're plenty good enough to avoid relegation, but I don't think they're anywhere near good enough to come up to the PL. I certainly don't think they'd do enough to stay up, either.
  18. I check in here for the highlights, then go looking for them on the BBC sounds app. It's a fascinating listen. These people walk among us, and that's a scary thought.
  19. I have a sneaking suspicion they have no idea what they're doing.
  20. Good. I was about to grab the gurney and the straight jacket.
  21. To clarify, these are quotes from their forum, right? Or have you gone rogue?
  22. I've just looked at the table. I almost forgot just how awful their start to the season has been. Jesus Christ. I don't think we have to worry about them at all this season, so they can do whatever they like as far as I'm concerned.
  23. Agreed. I wouldn't want to risk him in the long term.
