  1. He won’t be the only scout though surely? There’s gotta be more than one scout. Liverpool have one of the best scouting networks. They robbed Minamino for £7.5million?
  2. Not called ‘el-loco’ for nothing. Our players would have to have their folders ready and be prepared to study and do extra homework .
  3. I’ve always wanted Bielsa especially before he joined Leeds. I just don’t see it though.
  4. Everyone knows that he needs replacing but the same messages over and over again is kinda boring don’t you think? Kodjia should start against Burnley but if we lose the rhetoric will be to blast Wesley again. I agree he has been poor but the only viable alternative is injured. So we’re stuck with him until we get someone else in. We know what we get with Kodjia however Dean Smith doesn’t trust him enough though. Blasting Wesley though isn’t going to improve him nor change Dean Smith’s mind.
  5. I wouldn’t mind us taking a punt on Luke Woolfenden from Luton. I think long term he will improve us, plays at centre back but will be an asset in years to come.
  6. They haven’t suddenly become crap. Nakamba can do a job like he was earlier in the season. Luiz needs to keep it simple. Nakamba needs to up his aggression again.
  7. He is two wingers short of having better results. However he has to play with two defensive midfielders. We aren’t good enough for 4-3-3 atm.
  8. The constant whinging about Wesley is getting tiresome. He started playing football at the age of 14. So to get where he has within 8 years is remarkable. And how many Wesley haters have scored in the Champions League???? And what did Kodjia do today? Apart from being on his heels a few times? Wesley is struggling we’ll address it hopefully ASAP by bringing a new face in.
  9. I voted keep Smith because the options there are a) shit (especially Henry stick to renault adverts and saying “Listen “ whilst touching Carragher’s leg) or B Unattainable - we’re not getting Pochettino.
  10. I was hoping we’d do a Liverpool and have a few signings ready. Getting Minamino for that price is daylight robbery.
  11. It’s one of those things that maybe over the last few weeks his performances haven’t been as good as he is therefore frustration got the better of him. I hope he comes back fully fit as there’s a tendency to rush the more important players back quicker.
  12. If we’re going to get done by ffp then here’s my shopping list - Kylian Mbappe decent pacy striker only 20/21 years of age. He will give us the outlet needed to get in behind. Might cost a few pennies in transfer fee and wages. We also need someone like Toni Kroos to get us the control we need in midfield. Koulibaly in defence definitely is worth a punt. On the wing id get in a schemer like Julian Brandt that will give us the necessities for pace on the wing. As a backup id like to see Timo Werner as he can cover a few positions. Question is are any of them up for a relegation fight.
  13. That there sir has hit the nail on the head. And its true for the majority of the squad.
  14. What the hell was Heaton doing for the first goal? And why didnt El-Mohamady at least try and get back in. Grealish has to be played in the centre with two defensive midfielders. The two DM’s should not be allowed forwards at all. We need to shut up shop but we just kept giving away chances. Despite what the commentator said their 3rd goal should never have stood because Grealish was fouled by the guy who crossed the ball in. After that it was over. Luiz man why you gotta push the guy you did the hard work. We lack footballing intelligence. Unfortunately Smith bought these donkeys. Even a point today would have been useful. What today proves is we need to play with either AEG or Trezeguet and keep Grealish in the centre. I think Grealish might wanna leave because it’s draining being the only one who looks like scoring. As for Smith unless we get Marcelo Gallardo (huge risk) or someone like Pochettino / Sampaoi who demand high intensity and hard work (we lack this) Benitez would make us very hard to beat but boring. think we have to stick with Smith. It’s harsh yes but we haven’t improved as I hoped we would. The last game against Norwich was a positive for me as he made the changes in formation to be a little more solid and functional but today he reverted to type. Would I sack him? Yes but only if someone who is better than him comes in. Is anyone available for that? Then no because I cant see Pochettino etc wanting to come unless he was promised huge funds immediately.
  15. It’s an Arabic name. BenRahma is two words Ben (should be Bin or Ibn) means son of , Rahma is most likely his father’s name. Therefore as an Arabic and English teacher teacher I refuse to not capitalise his father’s name. Ta.
  16. If we get Bowen id be really happy with that signing. I think he is a better player than BenRahma. BenRahma is someone who struggled in France whilst he has done well since he is doing it against cloggers. Bowen just looks waay better than the championship whereas BenRahma looks good in the championship.
  17. In the subcontinental cricket grounds they have instead of blocks (k1,k2 etc) they have ‘enclosures’ named after legendary figures of the local ground and the national teams. Wasim Akram enclosure, Sachin Tendulkar enclosure. We should do the same. So you’d have the Pongo Waring block/enclosure, the Peter Mcparland block should be the upper Holte as lets face it our most raucous fans reside there . This way forgotten legends of our club get the recognition they deserve. To accompany this if one buys a season ticket they should receive a printed (signed if alive) magazine / newsletter about the legend through the post relative to the block/enclosure they buy the seat in. Another moot point is our current and future players might have incentive to get their name on an enclosure. It can start with one or two of our stands and then expand from there. Naturally i look forward to taking a dump in the Micah Richards and Joleon Lescott toilets.
  18. Fergie always was able to identify when a player needed a rest and when a player needed taking out of the firing line. McGinn shouldn’t have been playing for the week or two weeks prior.
  19. The irony is against Norwich he had the best passing accuracy of all our players. Defensively he was poor though.
  20. If we’re ‘soft’ in this game we are going to get mauled. However if we can move the ball quickly we’ll do them. We need to try and dominate possession so we can dictate what happens.
  21. I think because he is Brazilian people were probably expecting triple step-overs and rainbow flicks then bicycle kicks in to the top corner. After the Everton game I thought wow. As I've said previously he needs to stay as far up as possible then maybe he will be more effective. He was definitely better today but the standard is so low atm he is struggling. I hope with better players coming in and with better results he will improve.
  22. If you look through the history of some my posts you will see I am very critical of Dean Smith as up until now he has stuck religiously to a system which unfortunately we don't have the players for and his Brentford and Walsall teams pressed high and dominated the ball. Also when we got promoted I thought we should bring in Marcelo Gallardo but that’s a personal preference as I believe he is going to be successful. Had we played the same 4-3-3 and with the high full backs we have played all season our GD would have taken a hit. We would have conceded a-lot more than the 3/4 chances they had. So why didn't this happen? Because Dean Smith decided to change his tactics. Of course they had a few chances but we had good chances too. El-Ghazi , El-Mohamady clean through only to totally muck up his cross. We stifled their players so we actually limited them because of our formation and we pressed them much better than we have done. Norwich like cutting teams up with threaded passes through the middle and in between the lines ( against Liverpool they should have won). And then he tactically bought on Hourihane which was a tactical move and in the interim 15-20 minutes we dominated them. So credit where credit is due. Criticism is justified when we lose but credit is also justified when we win, especially as Dean Smith changed formation and also allowed Jack the freedom to play wherever he wanted today. Also Dean Smith definitely isn’t the Messiah. We need reinforcements and Smith needs to be more flexible but a-lot of credit is due to him today as he changed things for the betterment of the team.
