    According to Doulas Luiz’s Instagram Wesley’s surgery has gone well so now the road to recovery begins. One positive thing is that Wesley is young and started football relatively late compared to other 22 year olds so hopefully he should recover quite quickly. Naturally he will have to adjust his movements to protect his knee once he comes back.

    I genuinely dislike the transfer windows. We have suffered three major injury setbacks which has left us exposed. There was nothing wrong with the old system of the window closing in March (?) . Instead now we have to scramble around for players and inevitably we will have to get in stop gaps etc. And on top of that teams will know we’re desperate. As for the Piatek links unfortunately we’re not attractive enough. Even if we were top of the table we would struggle against the London clubs and the north western clubs. Pep vs Ancelotti vs Klopp vs Mourinho vs Dean Smith. Then you have Manchester United, shit manager but it’s still Manchester United. The London clubs have that lure to them, witton v Knightsbridge / Saville Row etc. Don’t expect ‘marquee’ signings we’re going to have to get rough diamonds or old stagers to come in.

    That pass from Luiz.... Dirty! Grealish and Maddison should both be starting for England. They will compliment each other and I don’t mean hairstyles too. Brilliant young English players. Pleasure to watch them do their thing. In style of the old Brazilian 4-4-2 where they didn’t have wingers they can both play the number 10 role like Rivaldo and Ronaldinho used to with Dunga and Sampoa as the defensive midfielders it could work. England can use Henderson and whoever else and have Jack and Maddison ahead of them with the full backs providing the width.

    Hence why just blaming Luiz is pointless and unfair and its in essence ‘scapegoating’ him when they still had to travel 40 yards to our goal. We win as a team and we lose as a team. Defensively Nakamba and Luiz were very good today. However its Good result though. Enjoy your night.

    By jove we missed Wesley tonight. However the players deserve applause. Naturally I want us to control the ball better, but this Leicester team is one of the best. Defensively we were solid and limited their chances. Mings was sensational defensively Luiz and Nakamba closed so many paths and avenues, Nyland has improved massively and how good is Grealish. A few signings and we might just stay up. We look so much better when we fight for every ball. 0 - 0 and we go through to the final.

    Hause wouldn’t have got outmuscled if his bod position was better, Mings should have known from that position Iheanacho was going to come towards him and possibly nicked the ball away. Had Konsa hoofed like the other 455345 times previously we wouldn’t be having this conversation.

    He was given a suicidal pass from a free kick when it should have gone in to the channel for a fresh young lively youngster to chase and be a pest (Konsa) . Iheanacho outmuscled Hause and was too quick for Mings with the shot yet Luiz is the only being blamed. Yes he was partly at fault for not protecting the ball better initially but was everything that transpired after that his fault? Defensively our team played well ,only on occasion did the 3rd best team in England have clear chances. When they did our brilliant young keeper saved us whilst making it look easy. The players in bold were directly involved with the play that led to their goal meaning they could have had an impact in stopping their goal. You forgot Douglas Luiz’s tackles blocks and interceptions from the game.

    In one passage Leicester could have had an easy attack but Nakamba and the other two scapegoats Luiz and AEG clamped their respective runners and Leicester had to go back and their crowd booed slightly with a huge groan too.

    That scooped pass in the first half when he Grealish were interplaying was simply sublime. He should never have received the pass from Konsa. Douglas Luiz is going to be world class. Should have been bought off though as his legs had gone. He isn’t a chaser he is a baller. 21 year old first season in the premier league. We have to stay up then watch this kid next season. Hourihane over Luiz?

    Re FFP, the soundbites are from next season or the season after they (the premier league) might start to give out points deductions. I say go on a mad splurge now for survival with the added bonus the players will be ready for next season too where we can look at the mid table / upper mid table.

    I said his passing and shooting technique is like, and re Zidane I said his movement is reminiscent of. I don’t remember saying he is on the same level. It was about his technique and movement. As for his final ball he has created an awful lot of chances this season and has a good number of assists too.

    Much improved because he calmed down a bit when he had the ball. His movement was very positive. Positionally too he looked way better.

    Ok. I might get heat but I'm going to put it out there. His passing and shooting technique is reminiscent of Beckham. His movement with the ball in the way he moves reminds me of Zidane, he glides on the pitch.
