    I thought he adjusted his game perfectly for the opposition. He definitely won’t have to face that onslaught every week. It’s going to be interesting to see our pressing as the season wears on.

    I definitely believe Hassan is the more intelligent footballer. There will be times when both have to be playing on the wings.

    No team no matter which league they are in will be able to sustain that type of pressing for 90 minutes. So When El-Ghazi got the opportunity to run at them he did and I remember one cross which opened them up a treat. Hopefully his injury isn’t serious. A key player for us this season.

    Can someone ask the Leipzig defenders to give his shirt back please? The bit where he nonchalantly held off 3 , yes 3 , of them with ease was good. He won’t have many harder games than today in the premier league.

    However we were able to compete against that. Only three maybe four teams will play play like that. The rest of the premier league have their strengths but we will pressure them in to submission. This Leipzig team have been together for longer than our players. Their coach whilst younger is also more experienced at the higher level than Dean Smith. The majority of Villa fans are imo realistic about our chances but playing and competing against the third best German team, CL regulars is a confidence boost. Spurs whilst probably more clinical play a similar style to Leipzig. disclaimer - I think 13/14th will be a fantastic achievement as I expect us to have dips in form.

    Leipzig didn’t think it was a friendly. They gave it their all. Fantastic preparation and a very good team. We are going to get better as the season progresses.

    I just wanna say thank you Leipzig you’ve given me confidence our boys are going to be just fine. Only Liverpool, City and Spurs will play that way. The rest of the premier league are slow and turgid, we are definitely staying up with performances like that. We held on at times but we more than held our own. Hourihane what a left foot. Grealish’s passing was good throughout he can’t beat everyone . Mings and Engels were solid.
