  1. As per your name if the keeper goes AWOL then maybe we can play with 11 outfield players. Rush goalie and all that?
  2. If Samatta is eligible id go 3-4-3 with the flat 4 In midfield and have Targett and Guilbert starting with Luiz n Nakamba as DM’s. if no Samatta then Id go 3-4-3 but with the 4 in a diamond. After his performance today id throw in Vassilev because his running makes a difference. Nakamba as DM Guilbert/ Luiz on the right, Hourihane/Luiz on the left and Jack in the 10 role.Having Guilbert in a diamond is risky but his tenacity is vital to us. On the wings AEG and Trezeguet. They have a strong midfield so we need to cram the middle and play through them The diamond 4 is a risk but we should keep possession better because our players will be closer together.
  3. The same way pundits media etc jizz themselves when de bruyne etc make one pass. The kid yes kid will be a top player.
  4. Correct. I don’t watch a lot of football anymore but I do watch Barcelona. Messi is out / has 2/3 people marking him then Barcelona invariably play shit especially in the last few years - they get away with it in la Liga although more teams take points off them now. See their performances in the Champions League recently to see proof of this.
  5. Ive said it before if we can somehow persuade N’Zonzi to come and play for us Douglas Luiz’s level will rise considerably.
  6. Same tactics FC Barcelona employ with Messi.
  7. At most he should be having minutes in the u23’s. I have nothing against him but he hasn’t played any football for two years. He’s not fit enough for non league atm he is so far off the pace. I think in a month a few cameos off the bench will be okay for him but starting with him is utterly stupid. At this rate it’s better to start me in Midfield. I might last 15 rather than the ten Drinkwater is.
  8. He tried it at Walsall. Was too difficult for him so became a pundit. Opinions and arseholes and all that
  9. He has imo proven that he’s got the quality to play in the premier league. First game he got out muscled a few times but his strength has improved. Can’t wait for him to come back.
  10. First 27 minutes of the game against Salzburg this is what I saw of Samatta. Naturally watching a game on the box and live are totally different. 4;35 tells teamsmates to push up, 5:41 team makes good progress on right 35 yards out, samatta moves towards box on final defender far post, good body position to go either way From freekick he gets space but keeper collects. 7:30 loves a give n go Plays on the last man 9:20 found space on edge box teammate shoots instead of through pass, - Grealish territory? Always a few yards off defender constantly dropping off but no dropping deep, 13:43 cb saw him off in aerial challenge 14:10 pissed off with aimless punt forward to winger, 14:58 bumps defender but ball is too high, 15:00 good harrying, but teammates are too slow to react to his press, 17:18 finds good space in between two cb’s but genk lose the ball, 18:51 shields ball well wins fk 21:15 moves across off the ball to flank to initiate a press and set a trap with his lw but Salzburg play well to keep the ball 22:20 gets ball jinks past 2 with back to goal wins throw in 23:35 gets ball edge box and lays off well but is fouled to get in to box not given. Genk have produced some excellent players. 26:00 comes short towards ball 35 yards then spins off when ball goes to winger, He found space regularly. I would love to see the two games against Liverpool to see if he could do that regularly there. He had the highest top speed at 31.7 kmh. He laid the ball off well he kept it simple. His leap is pretty good took his goal well ( I skipped to that part). AEG and Trezeguet might benefit the most from playing with him as they can play the ball in to space for him to run on to. In this 27 minutes he made a few off the ball runs but wasn't played through. He isn't a sprinter but he uses his speed sparingly. Strong shooter. On a side note Salzburg have some decent players. Edit : I have a new found respect for Villain4life.
  11. I cant find the full game but ive found the full games against Salzburg and Napoli. In the 6-2 defeat with Salzburg In the first minute he found space between the cb and lb but pass was overhit, and showed good movement from the subsequent corner but cross was under-hit ( familiar no?).
  12. The same thing Africans say about the Euro’s etc.
  13. It precedes the Euro championships by 3 years. It’s very very important to the African nations.
  14. He moves like Mane with the ball from what I have seen, he seems like a cross between Mane and Kalou. Someone mentioned the Kalou similarities earlier. Before anyone accuses me of getting overly excited im merely referring to his movement only.
  15. In addition he has lost the speed in his game since his injury that season. He’s played in the Premier League well done but unfortunately he isn’t good enough even as a squad player. Before his injury yes then I think he would have thrived.
  16. N’Zonzi could be the difference between relegation and staying up.
  17. Couldn’t find the whole game so I went through the highlights of the champions league games he played in. He is definitely quick. He has a good leap, not weak but not the strongest this can be worked on. His finishing is ok. I like his positioning especially from wide balls has a tendency to drift on to the opposite full back then attack the centre spaces. He could have scored a few more but his teammates struggled to find him. His biggest weakness it seems is his passing it’s for the want of a better word quite simply shit. Overall I think it’s the threat he brings which will allow us to flourish. We haven’t got this type of player in the squad. Fast and mobile with good movement in the final third. He made a few runs to open the spaces.
  18. Against Liverpool at home Genk had 25% possession but had 8 shots to Liverpool’s 17. At anfield Liverpool had more shots with slightly less possession. In that game Samatta scored which was one of 6 shots total from 28% possession. I’ll report back with what I saw from him in the games. Obviously im not an expert on such things but it’s interesting me because a few members have written him off already.
  19. Im going to watch the Liverpool Genk game later to see how his movement was in that game and how he performed against Van Dyke. ( yes im a saddo )
  20. If we get him in I think he’ll do well, even if he doesn’t score loads, if he assists a few then our attacking play that will help. His speed is good which at the very least will give us another dimension to our play. Unfortunately we have lacked pace upfront this season something which Samatta will bring. He has 9 goals in 12 Europa league appearances last season. 3 goals in 6 for the champions league is decent too. We’re apparently also looking at Llorente or Slimani too which means we have a decent strike force for the rest of the season. Had we got Samatta in addition to Wesley in the summer I believe Wesley would have improved quicker and benefited from having someone like Samatta around.
  21. Samatta has 3 goals in 6 CL appearances. Scored against Liverpool too in that game.
  22. All Benteke has proved is he’s got more injuries than goals in the last three years. He’s not firing anyone to safety. If we signed Toney and or Shankland they will score more goals for us in the premier league than Benteke Mk2 will. I don’t think anyone who wants him is comprehending the injuries he’s had have seriously limited his game. ‘If we get him fit and firing’ . Benteke is currently injured! Again. As for Scotland being trash McGinn and Robertson haven’t done too badly. They’re the outstanding ones. There are enough solid Scottish players playing in the Prem to say they have the ability to make an impact in England’s top league. The two strikers I’ve mentioned have the raw ingredients necessary the rest is up to their mentality and then the coaching staff to get the best out of them if we took a punt on them. Sentiment will get us relegated.
  23. Luiz and Nakamba together in DM works. We are undefeated when we’ve used that tactic ( W2 L0 D1) . They need to start together until McGinn comes back.
  24. His presence alone will be worth the money we’ve given them for the loan fee.
  25. I’ll help, Lawrence Shankland and Ivan Toney both will improve us no end, both are quick skilful and can finish. Plus they are a little ‘spikey’ too and I don’t mean their hairstyles. They wont cost the Earth either. Oh and one more thing both are currently better than Christian ‘im now an injury prone crock of shit’ Benteke. And they will be worth a hell of lot more too in a season or two .
