if McGinn is starting in a midfield 3 this season, it will be the start of the whole DM saga again, but for a no.8 slot. Ramsey & Kamara yes, the third midfield slot needs a marquee signing imo.

Joao Palhinha having a medical at Fulham. How good is this dude? He's capped for Portugal etc.

Unfortunately i agree, he definitely hasnt been the biggest flop we have had, not even close tbh.

Joao Palhinha to Fulham for 17m it seems, isnt/wasnt he quite highly rated? (DM, 6ft 3, 14 Portugal caps). Phillips seen in Man City top on way to medical, looks like thats as good as done.

i thought he only recently signed one?

He played for 7 or so games, in i think 3 of them he conceded some really ropey goals. Got injured & never got his spot back when he returned to fitness. Pity this one, was in hindsight a terrible purchase, but when we signed him he was borderline Croatia no.1 and was decently rated. Didnt work out though, glad we have got his wages off the books, especially if we also get Trez off the books soon.

Arsenal - Jesus Spurs - Bissouma & Richarlison Raphinha to Arsenal or Chelsea. Probably more to come from the "big 6". If we stand any chance of even a top 8, we need to make some big, big moves in the transfer market, going to be interesting to see if we do.

Henderson loan, Awoniyi signing for 18m (striker). Rumoured to be close to Neco Williams for 15m (Liverpool - RB/RWB) & Gibbs White for 20m (Wolves - MC). Will be interesting to see who they do bring in, they will have an interesting team i think, at the very least, if these transfers turn out in reality as good as on paper, they should have no trouble coming back up if they do go down.

If you look at a lot of our signings since we came up, I think in hindsight we xould have bought much better, and possibly cheaper for quite a few of the signings. We have bought some good players, but my lord have we wasted a lot of money too.

Since the summer of 21/22, so last years summer window, this Jan, and this summer window so far, we have a net spend of 36m ish (166m spent, 130m income), if we paid Kamara and others hefty sign on fees the actual costs might be quite a bit more, but regardless, our next spend over the last 12-18 months has been pretty small overall tbh. Whether we do or dont sign any payers, or not many, i dunno, but im sure it wont be down to not having the money to spend.

Mcginn isn't good enough to be a roaming maverick. We need another midfielder, Ramsey, kamara and another no 8, with mcginn, sanson, nakamba etc as squad players.
