  1. oh boy, i wish we could have worked some weird magic to sign Gabriel Jesus.....
  2. DCL out for 6 weeks then. So prob out for the first 6-8 games, we play them in our second game, so good for us.
  3. he was no.8 last year, and didnt get any game time (hardly).
  4. 36 players with a squad number, 9 of which are youth/young players, so still 27 "senior" players with a number. I think we need to offload a few lol.
  5. come on, you know what i mean I mean on balance, no way in a million years, but we could have the 1 in a million where we get 4th/5th/6th/7th, kind of like the 1 in a million Leicester winning the league.....
  6. there is no way in a million years that this squad is finishing 7th. If 7th is the target, we need at least 2 new signings. If Purslow thinks this squad is capable of 7th, i am worried for him. note: i admit there may be scenarios where it could get 7th, but those are outliers, on balance, or probability, this squad isnt finishing 7th.
  7. We had better not do a Watford.
  8. Kamara & Timmy in a double pivot.
  9. Very interesting and insightful interview. INTERVIEW | George Boateng Pleased with First-team Call-ups https://video.avfc.co.uk/video/dm9kJTdDMF9ibTc3cmI4ZCU3QyUyRnNlY3Rpb24lM0ZzbHVnJTNEaG9tZSU3Q2hvbWUlMkZoZXJvX2Nhcm91c2Vs?lang=en
  10. SPAMs main edge over us (for me at least), was their midfield (Rice/Soucek). Even though we have signed Kamara, i still think its still the main difference. SPAM have two players in Rice & Soucek who are decent on the ball, but powerful & aggressive (add tall to that also), which covers off so many weaknesses and strengths of other teams, while still being capable overall. Where i think Villa, although competent in terms of vision/passing/driving forward, still lack core physicality, power etc, in the midfield area.
  11. tbf, and i never thought i would say this, Joelinton has been brilliant since he converted to midfield. Who would have thought it......
  12. i was wrong, altered post above lol.
  13. ye think thats right. I-row-bu-nam. (I said phonetically not as in I(me)) Basically the "g" in Iroegbunam is silent. At least thats what i thought. note: its interesting for me, as one letter in my surname is silent, it catches a lot of people out. edit: interestingly.
  14. Signed a 4 year contract on 22nd Sept 2020. 2 years left then.
  15. they could have an interesting team (players as of 03/08), granted Toffolo will prob play LB until Omar Richards is fit.

AKA Leicester were all over us like a rash....... I would just prefer to have the players to control games better, then we wouldnt be setting records for tackles/interceptions and chasing the game with 30% possession.
  18. Yeah i know you werent, i was just extending the point to "i would just prefer to offload as many fringe players as possible" - including Davis.
  19. prob all true. I'd rather just trim the wage bill tbh, with Davis, Traore, El Ghazi, Guilbert, Hause, Nakamba etc, we probably have £200k + a week tied up in fringe/not needed players, that we could be spending on actually improving our first 11.
  20. Looks like Davis is back training (as per the OS pre Bournemouth training pictures). Hopefully he will get a move soon.
