He has improved since moving to Liverpool to be fair. Serious pace and athleticism in the team also. Just lack a bit of guile in midfield, not enough good central defenders for a back 3 and no meaningful cover for Kane. Apart from that they are one of the better squads in the World cup.

All out attack is the only strategy that will work also with the players available. Everyone fit and there is an outside chance as world football is weak at the moment.

With Cunningham injured and Ward being rested he could well get a game too.

He actually hasn't been that bad but since they have went to a 4-2-3-1 instead of the 3-4-2-1 his productivity has dropped in terms of goals and assists. He still is a huge talent for me.

Derrick Williams called up the Irish squad for a friendly against Turkey. Callum Robinson wants to play for us too but hasn't been called up despite only 3 strikers in the squad (Long, Hogan and Maguire).

For RTE George Hamilton remains an excellent commentator, I always wondered why he wasn't poached by one of the English channels.

Is there any other player around that wins as many free kicks as Jack. Between attacking set pieces and relieving pressure on the defence it makes some difference. Snodgrass is handy at it too.

To be fair it is possible and there was a FIFA underage tournament a few years ago in Mexico where over half the players tested failed due to contaminated meat. That being said I'm always cynical.

Nothing new there really, with all of what is known and has come out about British Cycling/Team Sky over the past few years it would take some serious gullibility to believe they were anything other than dirty. Same story with Farrah, the BBC's athtletic coverage does be seriously North Koreanesque and I find it amusing watching the likes of Radcliffe cheerlead.

Jeremy Peace took a lot of abuse for not investing money but he ran the club solidly enough and I doubt he would have appointed Pardew after things went stale with Pulis.

I think it is the same case with Xhaka and Kolasinac, they are playing in a broken team with no motivation or proper organisation but are not as bad as they look lately. Of course the attitude of the players has to be questioned but I'd give them a chance to prove themselves under new management. The likes of Chambers, Iwobi and Cech (finished athletically) are definitely not good enough though.

Always a classy individual too and just a very competent football man. 4 points from the final 9 games should be enough to stay up but with the form they are in they could easily finish 8th.
