  1. Tough job ahead of him but he is a good appointment for them, has been solidly above average in every job so far. On the subject of his hair I respect the fact that he is not vain enough to get a hair transplant.
  2. Nonsense, McGrath had more pace after his legs had gone than Terry had at his peak. That is the reason he could still do a job at 36 going on 37. Terry with his legs gone is a disaster on a slightly smaller scale than Lescott.
  3. 11 years of 1st team football behind him though and he has started to get injury prone, he never fulfilled his potenetial.
  4. He is 36 going on 37, his legs have gone and he will cost a fortune in wages. Perfect Villa signing.
  5. Harry Maguire going to Leicester for £17m. A right footed Nathan Baker.
  6. Sometimes there are simple transfers to make with little or no risk. Daryl Horgan is a perfect example, he was available on a free in January, wages he went for in the end were £8,000pw, he was after doing very well in the Europa league but Preston were the ones to take the risk. He is still no world beater but is a good championship winger and they will get a few million for him soon enough. Andy Boyle also signed from Dundalk and looked comfortable in the few games he played towards the end of the season. Sean Maguire (22) from Cork City will be a massive success for them too, he has scored pretty much a goal a game for Cork City and has all the attributes to make it at a higher level. I'd be confident that he will outscore Hogan and McCormack combined and he is going for €150,000. I know this is LOI (probably upper league 2 standard but the bargains are there to be had in comparison to the English lower leagues who command more for players).
  7. You can if you don't spend a lot of money on transfer fees and wages.
  8. That is insane, hugely over rated, Ellis Short will be happy.
  9. No Villa players in either successful England u20 teams (WC and Toulon), the likes of Everton very well represented so it is not all Chelsea/Man City money needed to have a good youth set up.
  10. I don't think their own demographic know what they are themselves anymore, as long as they have their flegs and their maches they are happy. The fact that they are poor and have no prospects doesn't stop them constantly voting for a right wing corrupt conservative party.
  11. Jan Kirchoff and Yaya Sanogo would be the two players available on a free that would suit Villa the most given the way Bruce has us playing. Kirchoff would offer cover in defence along with rotating/replacing Jedinak. Sanogo is the type of forward suited to chasing the lost causes and would be an ideal partner for Kodjia or Hogan if fit. Both are relatively young and should have potential resale values. Cuco Martina would be a great signing at this level but there is no opening at RB.
  12. Darryl Horgan is better but wages were too small for him and he was available on a free so the club decided not to go for him.
  13. BBC is a bit Day Todayish at the moment with this graphics man.
  14. 2 safe seat results from 600. Labour will make most gains in more affluent areas where young people have turned out.
  15. Big turnout in the Northeast I reckon given the delay, should be another good sign for Labour.
  16. That would be Kuenssberg's new labour contacts who are still in denial about Corbyn.
  17. The SNP won't be that low and they will take seats off the tories on that exit poll model.
  18. Sinn Fein might come under pressure to take the oath.
  19. Corbyn better get negotiating if Labour get a few more seat than the exit poll prediction.
  20. One slight glimmer of hope for ye is the fact that Labour win the personality contest this time. I recall last election that an idiot footballer from the roughest part of Liverpool in Jon Walters voted tory on the basis of Ed Miliband being so pathetic (look natural Ed etc.). Just an example but I still maintain that Miliband's weirdness cost Labour massively last time, the tables have turned this time with May being seen as an empty coward while Corbyn has been very good at communicating with the public and he has substance as a person regardless of your opinions of him. It might be enough to get Labour close.
  21. I'd be very happy with Sanogo on a free to be honest especially if wages were modest. No shame in not making it at Arsenal and the loan deals he's had were poorly chosen. Milik and injuries kept him out of the Ajax team, Charlton were garbage while Palace were managed by Pardew. He does seem injury prone though.
