  1. I haven’t watched any of these two games, I’m so fed up of Southgate’s football and the bull shit narrative around the national team. Seeing so many articles writing Watkins off as a flop and lauding Toney as the second coming of Lineker. I’m so detached from the England team now. That said, I’m glad Konsa did well and it was a pleasant surprise to see Tielemans bagged two. Quite what Southgate has learnt from these friendlies is anyone’s guess, I suspect that it’s about 10% of what a top coach would have.
  2. They’ve been successfully entertaining us for years!
  3. We weren’t great today but we dug in and found the equaliser. A point away from home against top 7 oppo isn’t a bad result though.
  4. I think the number of injuries and suspensions might have something to do with our changes, don’t ya think?
  5. Watkins just four goals off Yorke now and only 17 away form equaling Gabby’s Premier League total. With a bit of luck he can become our all time PL goal scorer by the end of next season
  6. He’s a machine. Wouldn't surprise me that his knee gash has already completely healed.
  7. Obviously Champions League qualification is the target, but if we finish 5th and there are only four places, then we’ll still get Europa League. I don’t know about anyone else but I’d be very happy with that. From where we’ve come from in the last ten or so years to qualifying for European competition two years in a row is a great achievement. Consistent euro qualification is important but it’s got to be sustainable. But like Nick says above, let’s take one game at a time and see where we end up. The picture will keep changing, and at times Spurs will be above us, and at times we’ll be above them again. Wherever we are on the final day, it will likely be 5th and that’s fine with me.
  8. Throughly enjoying this now. So glad for Duran to get his goal, we might need him in the run in.
  9. We’ve had some good moments but still we’re not fully clicking. I guess it’s to be expected given the recent form and injuries. A win here will be massive, please see it through second half Villa. Praying to McGrath that Ollie’s injury is just a knock and he won’t be out for any length of time
  10. I’ve got no problem with Ollie cutting back in to shoot with his right, it was a good block from Romero, most often Watkins would see a shot on target from that position.
  11. Can’t be too disappointed with the first half. We’ve seriously limited their chances and created a few moments of panic for their defence. We’ve got more gears to move into and as we know, we’re dangerous in transition and could easily create a goal from nowhere. I think we’ll win this
  12. Game could go either way and does promise goals galore, and where as a win would be massive for either side, I don’t believe it will define the fourth place race. We could lose today and still finish fourth, trust Emery’s 2ppg consistency to see us through.
  13. If you’ve not got anywhere booked already then they’ll all be too full and you’ll have no chance of getting table, no point wasting your time trying… is what I’d say
  14. Glad to see Pau back in the team, and with Konsa back and Carlos on the bench we’re getting close to our full strength defensive options again.
  15. This is true. Do we know it was Roma Ultras that did this? Were they affiliated in any way other than it being in Rome? The Brighton fans were robbed too, could have just been a none associated attack on football tourists. I haven’t read the full story though so could well be wrong.
  16. Happy with that selection, it’s strong but still achieves rotation and integration. Looking forward to hearing how Tim and Rogers get on. I say hearing as I’m about to set off driving from Lancaster to Doncaster so will miss it, let’s hope the audio is good quality and doesn’t involve Jack Woodward!
  17. They might do but it will probably say ‘sweetcorns’ on half of them!
  18. Shit thread, close it down please But…. If I have to pick one, then it will have to be Kortney Hause
  19. Just read his Ajax presser comments where he mentions he’s not played Ajax before in his SIXTEEN consecutive years in European competition. I already knew of that run, but just the a moment to think about that. 16 solid years of solid Europa, Champions League and Conference League experience. We really have the best possible manager we could have wished for.
  20. Yep great news that it’s nothing serious, about time we had some luck with injuries! A fit and firing JJ will make such a difference to our run in.
  21. Get him to the Magic Mushroom Energy Store (if it still exists)! A punnet of Hawaiian shrooms will sort him out.
  22. I’d completely forgotten about Henderson being at Ajax. A quick check of his stats and he’s played four league games and one ECL game for them. The data would suggest he’s been a fairly solid 7 to 7.5 out of 10, with good passing accuracy and the odd shot. His experience will be good for them but I hope our midfield runs rings around the word removed.
  23. Good idea. I’d happily go if I was more local and not working away tomorrow. As it stands I won’t even get to watch it, will have to settle for the audio coverage in the car on the drive home.
