    A really good performance and much needed win, that’s two in a row and we’re starting to play like we were earlier in the season. Which is extra impressive given the players we have out. Voted Bailey for MOTM, he was excellent again, but could have given it to McGinn, Watkins or even Dougie. We nearly let Forest back in with sloppy mistakes at the back but battled to regain control and the fourth goal effectively killed it. Really good game, and even better with redscum losing.

    Can’t believe I forgot about the draw today. Ajax then hey? I’m happy with that. We want to be in Europe to play the big names, now here is our chance. Worked out quite nicely last time, no? And I’d argue we are a better team now, and they are far worse. If I could pick any manager in football alive today to manage our European campaign and league push, it would be Mr Emery. He’s used to this and will want us to win the ECL and qualify for CL. Nice to get a team fairly close as well travel wise. The atmosphere at VP should be bouncing.

    I wouldn’t get caught up in the details. He’ll probably do his ACL before the end of the season and be staying at Hull.

    Yeah I feel quietly confident about this one. I’d be more than happy with a similar outcome to our last home game vs them. A not so pretty 2-0 win, with a last minute goal from Ollie and with no Bertie magic, an opening goal from some Bailey skillz. Honestly I don’t care how we win at this stage, just want those points and to build some more momentum for the run in.

    Never liked him in Boyzone so I’m not about to believe his transfer tittle tattle. I honestly don’t think Emery would be tempted to go anywhere at the moment. He’s on the up at Villa and has all the support he could want, his project is only at the start.

    I also hate people that say “listen” at the start of each sentence. Gregg does it, and it makes me even more irritated by him.

    I think Evans is on Dan’s podcasts so much because Dan really likes having him on and gets a self perceived (and possible real) profile raise through associating with him, a ‘real’ journalist. Gregg probably did a fair bit to help raise Dan’s profile and get him more work in the media. Which is great for him and I can understand him being thankful of that. However, I still don’t want to listen to Gregg and think he should be ditched now that the podcast isn’t run through the Athletic and also given Gregg was ‘promoted’ to cover Liverpool. Yeah he’s got history with Villa but he couldn’t even be bothered to prepare his stories from being Villa reporter, in the segment Dan tried to introduce.

    I would expect him to feature more in our ECL campaign, I’m sure we’ll find out whether his appearance clause is just premier league related or not then. I don’t think he’s an awful player, there’s potential there but I don’t think we have the luxury of playing him into form. Bear in mind it can take a season for a player to settle and perform at their best, and there’s no guarantees.
