  1. We don't look comfortable keeping it on the ground when we are been pressed high up. Horses for courses approach for me. If Adams and and Jutkiewicz press us high and their midfield follow suit, we've showed in the last few weeks especially with Mings who has a good range finder short or long, that we can play over them too. We do this enough to make them sweat and then hopefully they sit deeper and we play through them. Monk's teams don't tend to have loads of possession in games but they use the ball well when they have it.
  2. I think kieftenbeld will be tasked solely with the job of breaking up grealish. We are a better footballing side than them. Be good to see how they control the emotional aspect of the game with it being at their place this time. We were shocking at Villa park in the first half against them and let's be honest they probably should of went 2 up. Confident we'll start better this time and score first.
  3. McGinn for Whelan. Leave Jack and Conor where they are.
  4. I remember when we played hull in the Monday night game first weekend of the season. The 1-3 scoreline was a bit deceptive . Steer was excellent. Stopped lots of goal bound shots that night. Then gets dropped for a fella who couldn't catch a cold.
  5. I think it's a great time to play them. We'll be buzzing in training this week because of yesterday and what i like about playing them next weekend is , well i hope , we don't get caught up in the emotion of this game. The fact we have to go on a near faultless run between now and the end of the season means i think we'll be on point football wise and play a bit more going forward than we have done there in the past.
  6. Think we'll fall short. We'll rue the Leeds, Forest and Baggies away game yet. Can take the ones we were dogshit in but those 3 in particular ( even though Rodriguez cheated us we should of being home and hosed. )
  7. Hourihane sat right in front of the back 4 that night. He was awful. Just saying. He was good today but can't pretend that night didn't happen. McGinn for Whelan next week for me. Horses for courses. They aren't going to sit back at home. They'll come at us and we need energy in midfield.
  8. Think even though Whelan did well today you obviously find a place for McGinn next weekend and I'd try him in the that sitting role. Great range of passing, manic work rate. He sat quite deep at hibs at times. No stranger to it.
  9. I think it all went tits up for Fulham when they lost fredericks and couldn't sign targett. Both were a huge part of the way they played. Made way too many signings that didn't come remotely close to how jokanovic had them playing. They lost the plot when they got promoted. Should of looked at Brighton and Bournemouth. Minimal change whilst trying to strengthen too.
  10. Got forward very well and wants to get forward too which is encouraging. When we are poor we always look like defence-midfield-striker play as separate entities and look miles apart on the pitch. Think we were much improved on that front yesterday. It will improve overall with better personnel play as Smith wants.
  11. So we need to be on the the look out for piano playing footballers then when are reshaping in the summer.
  12. Never posted much outside the football forum before but last year i developed chronic tinnitus in my left ear. Sleep was/is absolutely awful. So light, don't go past 4 hours and when i do sleep it's really light. I was referred to an ENT specialist by my doctor who in turn referred me for an MRI which i had this Monday. I heard back from his secretary 2 days later asking to see me again in 2 weeks to discuss the results. Why would i need to be seen again if there was nothing to see and secondly if there was, 2 weeks out suggests it isn't urgent. Just wondering from people's experiences is it standard procedure to get a call back to see a consultant again even if it's nothing to see. Seems pointless.
  13. No but i think losing Jack showed how limited hourihane and many others are without him. That's becoming very obvious.
  14. He can't tackle for shit. He pushes them in the back first. Every time.
  15. He doesn't look strong enough. I'm starting to think the football we played when he came in was reactionary from the new players to something, anything new, rather than any great tactical nous.
  16. Levy ? Can't see it mate to be honest.
  17. Meant to the professional ranks. Heard they were a few good clubs offering him terms. Was underage at viila wasn't he ?
  18. Ramsey is a real talent. Villa faced a bit of competition to get him. They rate him highly. Not surprised he's made the match day squad so soon.
  19. Tuanzebe starts for United next season in my opinion. He's the real deal. Their CB'S aren't the best to be fair.
  20. There was a core group of that Barnsley team, hourihane, hamill, winall, and bree who just seemed to carry momentum into the championship from their league one playoff winning final. That can happen. They all made each other look good really. Conor is not good. Clearly. Sunderland seen it and hey fair play to him for going all the way down to Plymouth and building himself up again. But it's borne more out of effort than any discernable footballing ability. Watching a bit of this match here and stieperman is a lefty too but my god his footballing brain, ability, and bravery on the ball is night and day with hourihane. And stieperman is probably a championship player. So.....hourihane?
  21. Real presence about him doesn't him. You aren't gliding past him. Big unit.
  22. Sheffield United appointed wilder in a pre season and got promoted the following season. If he didn't, he wouldn't be there. You don't give 3 years just because..
