    Exactly. Never heard his name popping up in media speculation during the summer about players Swansea would lose after being relegated. I heard mawson mentioned, lots, and subsequently left. Never heard fer being linked with anyone. I dunno , think it's a case of " oooh look, he's Dutch that guy, he's really good "

    I still can't get my head around the guilbert situation to be honest. I don't buy this " we could only get him if they could keep him for the rest of the season " lark. I mean c'mon. You want him now, you go out and do your job and get him. His loyalty and wanting to see it through and help the Caen cause whilst it's admirable, i couldn't care less. We've been soft in negotiations for years though really.

    Decent line-up for me. Hopefully Carroll comes on at does enough to start next Friday. Lot of people losing their nut that kodjia doesn't seem to be getting a look in under Smith. I'm not surprised. He hasn't done much for a long time now in a villa shirt and he is the quintessential "me" player. Does silly things with the ball. Doesn't work hard and he can be technically quite poor.

    So that's 5 of the u23s, including Clark who was already at port vale, at league 2 clubs now. It's good. If they are good enough they'll make it here .

    If we do sign mings he must be ready to play right now and be 100% fit. He has a history of injuries and you'd get the impression with us at times that we are a health spa rather than a football club. Fed up with it.

    So u mean some new personnel then? Do you not think that maybe just maybe dean smith, who has a wealth of managerial experience, is more qualified than me or you to decide whether the likes of o'hare, doyle-hayes etc ( can only assume it's these guys you meant by something new and not the usual suspects) are ready or good enough right now for first team football. Personally i think many on VT have a vastly over inflated opinion of our u23s. Carlisle are looking at O'Hare on loan. League 2 Carlisle. I 100% agree we are pissing into the wind with the usual suspects yes but putting in the aforementioned just because....is not the answer either. Let's do this right. Get the right people in to play how Smith wants.

    I agree. We need to show a bit of courage and not the short sightedness we have done as a club for years. How many Norwich fans were calling for Farke's head this time last season. They finished 14th. The comparison with them from this to last season is night and day. They had a plan. Change, real change doesn't happen overnight and it certainly doesn't happen with players who can't play high intensity passing football. Farke was never the problem. What he was working with was. I suspect the same is going on here.

    Our scouting of players, thorough scouting, has been piss poor for many years now. We spunk a lot of money on pretty average players. When Southampton were in the championship a few years ago and paid 1 million pounds for schneiderlin who was a cracking talent. We would never be able to pull off anything like that.

    The man is one of the biggest whingers I've ever seen too. Lost the ball to a spot on and well timed tackle from a hull player yesterday that led to the chance Chester cleared off the line and the first thing hourihane does is hands up shouting at the ref. What a wimp.

    His job is to keep the ball out of the net. Lets not lose sight of that. Courage and confidence ? I'm not quite sure what u mean but....yeah, has to do better for Bowen's goal.

    There is not much wrong with our midield ? Agree with you on our defence but our midfield are so lightweight and lack positional and actual footballing ability on the ball that our back 4 is constantly under siege. Midfield is the root of our problem in my opinion.
