  1. Anyone have any knowledge/theory about what happens if Liverpool offer 32.5 million with three (or so) hours left in the transfer window? My guess is we'd have to accept. Not good.
  2. Yeah although that that was down to deadly Doug wanting to keep a share of the vote at the last minute afaik. Can't see RL pulling late stunts.
  3. Could be a mennace on the pitch Haven't we Beanover this before?
  4. My sole reason was to preserve linguistic decorum. I hake to think where we'd be without it. When necessary, one must apply correction with the skilled hand of a highly-trained sturgeon.
  5. Ah, I'm a dumbass. I thought you were using a french word (i.e. the French for swimming pool) Don't be so hard on yourself. Piscine as pertaining to fish is pronounced pisskine, which simply doesn't work in the context of the attempted pun. Anyone know why Gil wasn't getting a game last season then? Was he injured?
  6. It's a decent enough link to the sort of fish that don't mind chlorine and don't eat much.
  7. What do you base this on? He's a Marxist with completely different views and priorities to the EU negotiators. Do you know of actual "stupid" things he's said or done, or are you just buying into the EU/German/banker line because it's the easiest? Call the other negotiating part terrorists is stupid. How he talked about the referendum. His views being different or not you have to realist. The referendum to me was not very well thought through. They asked a question about two complex documents that amounted to: Would you like to feel less financial pain? The answer was obvious. I think you can make a case for calling them terrorists in the context he used it in. Obviously he feels the Greeks are being held to ransom by people threatening financial meltdown if Greece doesn't to what they say. Calling them terrorists might be emotive language, but it's not all that far-fetched imo. On the referendum question, we don't know if he was involved in wording it, and in any case I don't really agree that it can be boiled down to "would you like to feel less financial pain?".

  9. I'm being dumb, I don't get this. Care to enlighten? Harvey? - That or it's a cryptic message to say we're definitely signing him at 9:45 tomorrow morning. Not sure which.
  10. I know nothing, but I'd be amazed if it was discussed openly. It doesn't need to be. You wouldn't mention wanting to work for a different company in a job interview.
  11. As a wise man once pointed out: If you can put your hands and lips on them then, hell, they're real.
  12. Behold the magnificent guesswork:
  13. All this before even reading the Transfer Speculation thread If we get Bunn in we're good for keepers imo. Spend the money on outfield talent instead.
  14. Wed get cabaye if pardew was our manager. Yeah, obv Pardew is a major factor, but Cabaye is still joining Crystal Palace. Point is we can still hope, if the PL has has much pulling power as it seems to atm.
  15. If Crystal Palace can get Cabaye...
  16. We will almost certainly buy a new keeper. I predict it will be someone not obviously better than Brad, but close enough to keep him on his toes. Job done.
  17. Joe Cole and Sendoras are a waste of wages. Lower wages, though, and both of them have done well enough when played. Zog is the only crap one left on the kind of wages we should be paying to players at the peak of their career.
  18. I'm in Sydney. My latest VT banner ad is Michael Clarke advertising Oral B: "The Poms have better teeth than us."
  19. Correct me if I'm wrong, but the Zog is now the only remaining serious waste of wages. I say waste, but maybe there's some reason to have a player who runs, dribbles and then gives the ball to the other team for a counter-attack.
  20. No! Well that's how my imaginary Greek inner self voted. In the referendum (reffo to its friends).
  21. Calling this reffo is looking like a good move for the Greek government.
  22. Yes, I was suggesting a possible explanation as to why it pisses you off. I'm visually impaired and in some conditions I can't be sure that I'm seeing the traffic that's in front of me, so I press the button. People often get pissed off because they can see "whether there are any cars or not" bur I can't. So why do you think it pisses you off? Tbf I don't think '91 or anyone else begrudges people who NEED to do what they do. It's the thoughtless kinds of idiocy that form the basis of this thread mostly imo.
  23. I think individually there's a better than even chance of Delph and Benteke staying. Both staying might be less likely, but I think they are each more likely to stay than go, if that makes sense. Not ITK, just my guess.
