  1. His Wikipedia page is currently unreadable, apparently due to being edited by someone called Julie Bayley
  2. rumored to be part of our coaching staff Is he? (genuine question). Awesomeness if so. Him and Ray Wilkins are two of a very few people that have struck me as the sort of bloke a real football club ought to have around.
  3. Looking at the number of people lining up to sell Gabby down the river, it's surprising how we expect any loyalty from people like Benteke and Welph.
  4. Funny, I've also heard the rumours that Tim is looking for a youngish striker who is allergic to scoring.
  5. My loading of the page currently says he's gone to Plymouth Argyle, ha ha. That's how reliable Wikipedia is on football transfer news.
  6. Let's see if we can follow a whole page of fish puns with a whole page of objections. Unless, of course, it becomes necessary to interrupt this thrilling sport for breaking news about the imminent takeover.
  7. When you're driving along gazing at pedestrians walking the other way and your angular velocity around a lamp post matches that of some thrilling-looking pavement eye candy at the vital moment, blocking out all visibility until you've driven past.
  8. And will be much, much more attractive to DP as a destination. We might as well lock the thread if they're serious.
  9. Gabby might not be flavour of the month at the moment, and he does seem to be getting fatter and lazier, but he is still very very fast, he's scored a lot of vital goals for us at important times, and I think a lot of people didn't notice that in spite of his poor performances for the last few months there have been games in the last three seasons where he has carried the team. He's also a Villan through and through, so as far as I'm concerned he can stick around as long as he wants.
  10. Holy cow. sign him up. Even if he's broken both legs.
  11. I don't know. I wince every time Nathan Bang-on-the-head gets another concussion. Hate seeing it happen, but then again he is a Villa fan and he'll be banging himself on the head somewhere anyway.
  12. Out Benteke - £32.5m Snake - £8m Weimann - £2.5m Lowton -£1m Sylla - £1.5m Total - £45.5m In Gueye - £8m Amavi - £9m Ayew - £9m Total - £26m Obviously figures are estimates but that should gives us about £19m to play just before we break even. Have I missed anyone? Salary-wise, including Sinclair, my stab in the dark from that is that we're 10k a week better off salary-wise, so about break-even minus the ones who've left, like Vlaar, Bent (!) etc. Conclusion: room for some good signings, considering the extra tele money.
  13. I'm 95% sure it should be more like a shortened version of "Gway-yeah" but nobody believes me (possibly because I have, on occasion, been known to spread misinformation due to being wrong )
  14. sadly i don't think you are completely wrong....reminds me of Jason Bowery Jeremy Bowery never actually managed to put the ball in the back of the net though, and Kozak has a decent record. Fairly important difference.
  15. We don't need the next Benteke though, and some of us wouldn't want that anyway. I'd sooner have two strikers who can score goals instead of one prima donna who doesn't turn up for FA Cup finals.
  16. According to Wikipedia he's scored not far off 1 in 2 for Lorient this season, coming off scoring 1 in 3 for Sochaux. That's pretty good for a 23yo. He's a big bloke, and his YouTubage shows some skills which suggest he has a bit of nous. I'm optimistic.
  17. I imagine him as [Villa fan] Mark Williams in the Fast Show standing in front of his shed, saying "This week, I have been mainly scouting in France."
  18. per completed pass. You mean "per completed pass".
  19. Even at the reported 125 million? Euros or pounds? I refer you to Richard's post. You'll have to ask him whether it's Euros or Pounds. Pounds I'd imagine.
  20. My eyes must be playing tricks, I saw loads of varied goals scored in that vid, some of which showed quite impressive footballing vision and athleticism.
